We were blessed with the arrival of most venerable Bhikkhu Thich Hanh Tan (from Germany) and his Buddhist delegation to our country on ten days pilgrimage starting from 22.11.2022 to 01.12.2022.
They visited almost all the historical and religious places of worship and were able to achieve good merits and met their spiritual objectives.

It was a privilege to organize the hotels, transport and the guiding services for the Vietnam Buddhist delegation led by the Most Ven. Dr. Thich Nhat Tu from 4th to 11th April 2022. The Most Ven. Dr. Thich Nhat Tu is a Vietnamese Buddhist reformer, an author, a composer of over 5000 Buddhist songs, a psychological consultant, and an active social activist in Vietnam.

The Most Ven. Dr. Thich Nhat Tu is committed to propagate Buddha's teachings through education, cultural activities and charitable programs in order to benefit the individuals and the society at large.

During his pilgrimage to Sri Lankan he engaged in a large volume of charitable programs and propagated Buddha’s teachings for the Sri Lankan needy societies.

The Most Ven. Dr. Thich Nhat Tu received two noble titles namely: (i) The World Honored (Shri Visvavibusana) (ii) The One who gives glory to the teachings (Sasanakirthi) at the ceremony held in BMICH on 10th April 2022.

Before the end of the ceremony, the Most Ven. Dr. Thich Nhat Tu together with members of the Vietnamese delegation granted scholarships to young student monks and contributed 100 gifts to Sri Lankan families who were in difficult situations.

Land handover ceremony for construction of Vietnam Bodhi Temple in Colombo took place on the same day morning at the Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS).

During the pilgrimage tour the Buddhist Delegation visited holy places of Buddhism in Kandy, Dambulla, Anuradhapura and Colombo.

As the provider and facilitator of transport, accommodations and guiding assistance, myself, Rohana Hettiarachchi and Dr, Wasantha Dissanayaka would like to express our gratitude for them and wish our Most Ven. Dr. Thich Nhat Tu and his delegation a healthy and long life.
