Basotho Cultural and Food Tasting Festival

Mr. Lerata Pekane, the Ambassador of the LCCI, is currently representing the LCCI at the African Investment Panel Discussion taking place today, August 30, 2024, at Boqate Leisure Park. Joining him is Mr. Elvin Joseph Masilele, CEO of the Zambia Chamber of Commerce, who will be representing Zambia. Both countries share cultural similarities, and this discussion presents a unique opportunity to celebrate and showcase our rich Basotho culture. It also serves as a platform for cultural exchange, fostering economic partnerships, and creating networking opportunities with nations that share similar cultural heritage.

LCCI signs an MoU with AeTrade Group..

To jointly promote Sokokuu.Africa platform, which connects buyers and sellers, facilitates the movement of goods between buyers and sellers, provides e-payment from buyers to sellers, which enables compliance and regulations with customs and revenue authorities and other Government Departments.

Sokokuu.Africa sets in collaboration with the LCCI to onboard enterprises to trade and transact on the sokokuu. Africa platform. "Through this initiative, SMEs will gain enhanced access to financing and markets, fostering their growth and boosting their role in Africa's socio-economic development."

Expanding Enterprise Participation in the Clothing and Textile Global Value Chain
Embracing the clothing and textile global value chains offers countries numerous opportunities for economic development, technological advancement, and social progress. However, it also presents challenges such as ensuring equitable distribution of benefits, addressing environmental concerns and managing risks associated with global integration.
The ILO in collaboration with ITC held a roundtable discussion for the Business Organizations and Governmental Ministries to unpack the indepth issues of a project aimed towards improving the Clothing and Textile Sector in Lesotho.
Our members of good standing took part in these yet to be launched project and had detailed first-hand information networking sessions.
