 Day Trip From Marrakech to Essaouirra
 If you’ve explored the Marrakech medina and haggled for bargains in the sprawling souk, heard storytellers weave their magic in the Djemaa el Fna square, and dined al fresco on Moroccan cuisine, it’s time to travel further afield to discover more of the magic of Morocco. Marrakech sits in the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, North Africa’s chain of mountains linking Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Here, the High Atlas range is cut by the Draa River to the south and Imlil valley, Ourika valley, Zat valley .. to the north. There are lots of excursions to do from Marrakech to the The Berber Valleys of the High Atlas Mountains which are only about a one hour drive from the city.  Itinerary
In an exceptional setting on the Atlantic coastline a rocky peninsula defying the waves this Old Portuguese town surprises you with its unexpected architecture: blue-shuttered house and cannons pointed out over the open sea. Know as Mogador until the 18th century, Essaouira was occupied by the Portuguese in the 16th century and still shows traces of this occupation.

THE BEACH : This beach is well-known by the organizers of sailboard contests, and presents a real challenge for surf professionals.

THE PORT: The port of Essaouira was constructed in 18th century. The port of Timbuktu, as it served to link black Africa to Europe and America. One of the most animated spots the city , where fish are sold auction after the return of the multicolored fishing boats.

THE SAKAL: Founded for purely military ends, it kept watch on the ocean and preserved the city against any attack thanks to a collection of bronze European cannons constantly aimed at the ocean.

THE FISH SOUK: It offers a variety of fresh fish straight from the port. Tourist can taste grilled fish right there, in a corner.

THE JEWELER SOUK: Unique in style, jewelry is deigned by highly skilled craftsmen right on-the-spot

-Day Treks From Imlil to the surrounding Toubkal Massif valleys
At the centre of the High Atlas, almost in the shadow of Mt Toubkal (4,167m), the highest point in North Aftrica, is the village of Imlil (1,740m). The village has become the most popular starting point for ascents of the great mountain and for a wide range of less demanding hikes and Treks.
Our range of treks include both 2, 3, 6 and 7 day itineraries that include an ascent of the summit of Mt Toubkal, and a selection of more gentle hikes through the picturesque panoramas, mountain passes, valleys and Berber villages of the High Atlas..

-Day - Tizi n Tamatert Walk from Imlil
A gentel walk to the est of Imlil towards Tizi n’Tamaterte (2279m) will take you to see the most typical valley in the high atlas mountains, which Imnane valley, several berber villages and also a spectavulaire view of the high atlas mountains, lunch on the pass & a break before going back to the house.
Day - Tasghimout Plateau Walk from Imlil
West of imlil is also beautiful and atractive, 2h50 walk uphill to Tizi Mzik to get a nice view above Imlil valley & Azzaden valley, lunch on the pass & a break before going back to the house.
- Day - Tizi n Tamatert Walk from Imil
A gentel walk to the est of Imlil towards Tizi n’Tamaterte (2279m) will take you to see the most typical valley in

- Day - Imlil to Ouad N'Fis.
This is a little-visited area, but it is close to Marrakech and it starts from the Berber village at Imlil. There are high passes and plateaux, a choice of wild camping and Berber guest houses, juniper forests, pretty valley villages and farms and ancient hazelnut groves. On the trek, you will have a choice of wild
camping and Berber gîte or guest houses.
You will spend valuable time with your Berber guides and hosts, learning about their lives and beliefs and absorbing their culture. On your return, you will have time to see Marrakech before flying home.
This trek is suitable for all age groups and for people of reasonable fitness.
Trekking Season - mid-April to mid-Oct. The Atlas mountains are snow-bound in the Winter season, which prohibits trekking.
