as well to our new customers for their warm messages and emails.
We would like to address recent developments concerning the earthquake that occurred in Morocco. Your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities, and we have some important information to share.
Earthquakes are not uncommon in Morocco, but they are typically of moderate intensity. The region most frequently affected has been Al Hoceima. However, this time, Marrakech and other regions experienced a stronger earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.8 in Marrakech.
The earthquake primarily impacted the old city of Marrakesh, particularly affecting some older stone and mud buildings as well as a historic mosque. It's important to note that the city as a whole has avoided widespread damage.🧡
It's essential to know that the earthquake's impact is declining, and there is no serious danger at the moment. According to the Institute of Geophysics Reports, aftershocks are gradually decreasing, and life is returning to normal, and Morocco is working tirelessly to ensure the safety and comfort of travelers like yourself.
Moreover, it's crucial to note that the earthquake didn't affect all the tourist sites. The epicenter of the earthquake was Al Houz (Moulay Brahim), an area located more than 32 miles away from Marrakech (please check the map below). Therefore, the city of Marrakech has escaped the damage of the earthquake.
Other sites in Morocco, such as Casablanca, Fes, Rabat, Marrakech, the Sahara Desert, Chefchaouen, and Tangier, are fully operational and ready to welcome travelers.
We are also pleased to inform you that none of the accommodations we use in our Sahara Tour (Boumalne Dades & Merzouga) were affected by the earthquake.
Your future reservations with us remain secure.
We are happy to confirm that all scheduled trips will proceed as planned, with no changes to the program.
Thank you for your understanding and compassion.
