On June 1st, Moldova will be hosting the European Summit, a significant gathering of leaders from across Europe. In light of this event, starting from May 31st at 5 PM, there will be traffic restrictions around Chisinau.

✅ During the EPC Summit, the residents of the capital and guests of the capital will have access to alternative routes, which have been created to ensure better traffic flow and overall organization.

Attention all tourists visiting Moldova during the European Summit!

We would like to inform you that there will be temporary changes to the train services between Chisinau and Iasi from May 30th to June 1st.

🚂 During the European Summit, the train service between Chisinau and Iasi will not be operational. However, 🚆The train service between Chisinau and Bucharest will continue to run according to its regular schedule.

Therefore, we recommend exploring alternative transportation options, such as buses or private cars, for traveling between Chisinau and Iasi during this period.

🇲🇩We would like to inform you about the arrangements in place during the summit period, which will be held on June 1st in the Republic of Moldova. Please take note of the following:

🛂 Border Crossings 🛂
All land border crossings will operate as usual, and the movement of travelers and transportation will not be affected during the European Summit. You can continue to use the established border checkpoints without any disruptions.

🛩 Chisinau International Airport 🛩
Please be aware that Chisinau International Airport will temporarily suspend its civil flights from June 1st, 00:00, until June 2nd, 07:00. This is to ensure the safe arrival and departure of 50 foreign delegations attending the summit.

Additionally, civilian drones are prohibited from flying starting from May 31st, 00:00, until June 2nd, 07:00.
We recommend staying updated on the organization of road traffic. It is also advisable to keep your identification documents easily accessible in case you are required to present them to the authorities.

Become the Tourist Ambassador of Chisinau!

During the "I greet you Chisinau" Festival, the National Inbound Association for Domestic Tourism together with the Chisinau City Hall runs the "Ask me about Chisinau" campaign to inform citizens and foreign tourists about tourist destinations in the capital by distributing information materials , which can be found at the Information Center for tourists inside the town hall and in the Tourist Trolleybus "Chisinau Sightseeing" which will run for free this weekend 🥳

Soroca Fortress has reopened!

After almost a year of break, Soroca Fortress awaits
visitors again.

The fortress can be visited Wednesday to Sunday from 9.00-13.00 and 14.00-18.00.

The entrance ticket for adults is –15 lei, children ages 7–16- 7 lei, and the younger ones enter for free.

🌡 The climate in Moldova is temperate continental, with hot long summers and short mild winters.

Lows go below 0 in winter and highs in summer over around 27-30. It’s mostly dry, with rainfalls in early summer and in October.
During the spring, the temperature is usually around +15° C. During the summer, the temperature is around +21.4° C; while the winter is the coldest one, with a monthly average temperature of –3.5° C. The fall is warm, with the weather getting chilly and rainy. Average temperatures around this time may be +3° C to +5° C.

The best time to go to Moldova is from May to September: the temperatures are usually pleasant, with cool nights. In July and August, however, there may be hot periods, so, if you do not like the heat, you can choose the months of May, June and September.

📍Vadul-Rascov is a particularly beautiful place. For centuries, it was a frontier town, also here was the famous Fair for the entire region, while in old times there was the famous Silk Road crossing this territory. Before the Dubasari Hydroelectric Power Station was made operational, the villagers used to cross the Dniester River without getting off the horse. When you arrive in Vadul-Rascov, leave some money in the village, as Rascov means pocket money in Dacian language. In Vadul-Rascov locality there is also Socola village. In the upper terrace of the high river bank, behind the village of Socola, the largest, most enigmatic and yet hardly discovered cave complex in this part of Europe.

The researchers say that the caves are of karst origin, being then transformed by the man-dug mine into a secret refuges and places of worship. Stretching the four-level complex, along more than seven kilometers of the riverbank, offers an incredible panorama of the gigantic cave complex.

Warning: A part of the route is located in Transnistria – a self-proclaimed separatist region, so don’t forget to take your passport to cross the “border”.

🗺 The Republic of Moldova has a rich cultural heritage which may be of great interest to tourists.
