Taken from U Pein bridge, Amarapura, Mandalay. The longest teak wood bridge, built in 1849 and has 1086 wooden pillars!

It gently curves 1300 yards across Shallow Taungthaman Lake.

Almost every photographers and sunset lovers will eventually make their way to the Bridge to see the sunset.

Take a walk along the bridge and from the middle, you can rent a boat to come back to the shore or you can rent a boat from the beginning!

Thanlyin is situated at the confluence of the Yangon and Bago Rivers; to be exact. on the southern bank of the Bago River. To the south of Thanlyin is a ridge named Utaringa Kon in history but locally known as Shin Mwe Nun Kon. It is on this ridge that Kyaik Khauk Pagoda stands.

The colonial town of Syriam was built by the British for it's port and petroleum refinery plant. It is also a sub-urban town right a few miles away from Yangon. across 1.5 mile-long bridge

One of the nice sight in Thanlyin is Ye Le Paya (mid-water Pagoda). It is located in the mid-stream and built on a reef. It was built by Kind Zeyasana, the seventh King of the Pada Dynasty in the third century B.C. At first, it was only 11 feet high. It complex comprises many building including a monastery!

Many Pilgrims and visitors can take a boat ride (only 3 – 5 minutes long) across the Pagoda.

Before departing for boat trip across the Pagoda, one can buy food for cat fish which surface to sn**ch foods thrown at them.

When food is thrown. they reach out to snap at it. revealing their size. which can reach up to one meter in length.

Inle lake

Inle lake, the second largest lake of Myanmar is located in Nyaung Shwe Township of the Shan State. Surrounded by more than 200 villages with a population of around 150,00, Inle lake is an enchanting place set in the hills of the southern Shan state. Located near to the border with China, Laos and Thailand, it is also surrounded by hills and its inhabitants are Intha. The visitors can enjoy the scenery of green hills, blue skies and discover the way of life of the famous leg-rowers. They can also find the “stilt-house villages” and “floating gardens” of the Intha tribe. Have a look at the traditional rotating five-day market and meet Shan, Pa-O, Taung Yo, Danu and other tribes. Find out how the lntha leg-rowers row with one leg and use both of their hands to fish! Boats are the main means of transport around the lake. But Inle Lake is not the only place where you can enjoy. Disembark at the jetty and explore the once a sleepy town called Nyaung Shwe by bike or on foot. Whether you take a walk on the shore or take a boat ride on the river, it guarantees to be a memorable and magnificent relaxation place from the busy modern day life.

The illuminating Shwedagon Pagoda is 332 feet high and the platform covers 12 acres. The hill on which the stupa stands is 190 feet above the sea level.

A pagoda standing right at the heart of Yangon is the Sule Pagoda.The Sule Pagoda is said to be over 2,000 years old, enshrining a hair relic of the Buddha. The golden pagod is unusual in that its octagonal shape continues right up to the terrace. It is surrounded by small shop of all the familiar services such as astrologers, palmists, photo studios and watch replair. From there, you may observe the atmosphere of the Yangon center with crowded people from all ways of life in various trades, and busy traffic.The 158 feet (48 metre)-high pagoda is close to the City Hall, and Independence Monument as well. It is used as a Milestone from which locations are measured towards north. The City Hall itself is a remarkable landmark of the nation. The construction began in April 1934 and inaugurated on 15 June 1936 under the British rule, it is a design of Myanmar architect Sithu U Tin with pure Myanmar style. Moreover it is a historic building for its role in the Independence Struggle. The Independence Mkonument, a stone piller, stands in Maha Bandoola Garden, named after a Myanmar general of the First Anglo-Myanmar War(1824-1826) near the Sule Pagoda facing the City Hall. The monument is a 155 feet (47-metre) obelisk surrounded by five smaller 30 feet(9-metre) pillers.The foundation of themonument was laid by Myanmar first Prime Minister U Nu on the day Myanmar got Independece:4 January 1948, and opened in 1950.
