The Gobi Desert once housed freshwater rivers and lakes abundant with water resources some 120 million years ago. The prevailing humid climate created an ideal paradise for various plants and animals, including dinosaurs. One of these paleontologically important regions located in the Gobi Desert is Nemegt Basin.
The Nemegt Basin is renowned for its rich fossil deposits, particularly from the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 71 to 65 million years ago. The basin has provided significant insights into the diverse ecosystems that existed during this time.

This year’s United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) has taken place in Dubai from the 30th of November until the 12th of December. Differently from other years, a tourism-focused official COP28 took place in order to highlight the sector’s capacity to enact concrete climate action.

During the event, different policies to promote climate action were discussed such as the measurement of emissions, regenerative approaches for destinations, decarbonisation strategies, and innovative finance. Moreover, it was also highlighted the progress that has been made in implementing the Glasgow Declaration for Climate Action on Tourism. In response to this, the Glasgow Declaration has been included by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as one of the initiatives in the Global Climate Action Platform.

It is important to point up, that currently, the number of signatories of the Glasgow Declaration has grown to 857. This means that every day more actors are interested in reaching the goal of halving emissions by 2030 and reaching Net Zero by 2050 at the latest. Travelife itself has signed the Glasgow Declaration and is consistently working to reach the previously mentioned goals.

If you want to know more about COP28 and the policies that were discussed during the event, please follow the link in our bio!

Our Story

The story of Zendmen Travel began with the merge of Wilderness Adventures Mongolia and MXP Adventures in 2010. Both companies were run by Amka and Muno with PJ respectively who are best friends. Amka and Muno were both born and brought up in western Mongolia and PJ is native to Singapore.
