Second stop in our tour of the Three Cities, after Vittoriosa: welcome to Senglea, locally known as l-Isla. Like Vittoriosa, Senglea was founded by the templar knighs and its main fort, St. Michael Bastion, was built by the Order of St John to protect the island, resisting to the Great Siege of Malta.
In Senglea, you will breath authentic medieval air, strolling around century-old streets where, many years ago, Grand Master Claude de la Sengle, who gave the city its name, used to rule. Look up! Here are the most beautiful Maltese Balconies of the island.
Last but not least: on the docks around the bay, you can find some of the best restaurants to eat delicious seafood. Not to miss.
Discover Senglea easily from St. Mary's House, it's just ten minutes walk away!
Tomorrow we will bring you to our last stop in the tour of the Three Cities, Bormla!

Our lovely home, St. Mary's House in the Three Cities, lies in the heart of Malta's historical centre: the Three Cities (It-Tlett Ibliet). Coming out of the Grand Harbour (il-Port il-Kbir) on two limestone peninsulas, the Three Cities host Malta's architectonic heritage and a traditional, cozy local culture. Tomorrow we will bring you to Birgu, the oldest of the Three Cities.
Are you ready?
