Hi friends! Most of you know that we’ve been back stateside for 10 months or so. We loved traveling the world, but business was calling and we both crave having projects!! Ha!

Anyway…. After a brief hiatus from the event industry I’m excited to officially announce the launch of Brazen Events.

As a full-service experiential event design firm there are few things we can't do! We love to offer unique and creative solutions to your clients' event needs and can handle everything from high-end florals to custom built fabrications, graphic design, lighting and more. Proposals are often presented within 2-3 business days and last minute requests are handled with ease, as our team loves a challenge!

Sudden displays of music and color like the Danza de Indios are one of the many reasons SMA gets constantly ranked “Number 1 Small City in the World”.

Our leisurely walk accidentally put us in the middle of these vibrant performances. The streets of San Miguel de Allende were amazing displays and equally impressive sounds. To be completely honest, some of the outfits creeped us out just a bit. 😳☠️

We’ve been here since August and we still discover something new almost every day. If you find your way to SMA, reach out—we’re here until April!

His one request? To spend his birthday in Germany doing ALL of the car things we can possibly do. Of course the museum is closed today. 🤬🤬🤬 so, instead we checked out the and now we’re spending the day in —and loving every single moment! ❤️❤️

Hard to believe that we’re almost 6 months in on our world travels. Time really does fly when you’re having fun. 🤷‍♀️

Perugia, 2022

After a few crazy awesome weeks we decided to chill for a bit in Perugia, Italy. An adorable town a 2.5-3 hr train ride away.

We ate and drank our way through Perugia. Our days consisted of long walks, chilly days and a few tv marathons. We needed some time to relax and that’s exactly what we did. We also failed to get very many photos this week. 🤦‍♀️

We had big plans to finish a few blog posts, but the wifi in our Airbnb] was so bad and inconsistent that we couldn’t even upload the photos or send out an email with attachments….

… Another reason why we prefer hotels, villas and resorts to inconsistent Airbnb] rentals. 🤷‍♀️

It’s our first time on the Amalfi Coast and it is every bit as magical as we had imagined.

Hi friends! It’s about time we introduce ourselves. 👩‍❤️‍👨

We are Rayna and Joe! We met in 2013 when Joe was traveling from San Francisco to Lexington, KY and his flight got delayed (thank you 🥰).

After a whirlwind long distance romance Joe made the big move from CA to KY and the real adventure began. ❤️❤️

We both have extensive hospitality and design backgrounds, and love working together on unique projects. We are together ALL of the time!

Here are a few fun facts about us:

Joe plays multiple musical instruments (coincidence? I think not. Ha!)

We both love cars! In fact, we’ll be celebrating Joe’s birthday this year in Germany, visiting all of the museums.

Joe went to culinary school and I love to watch him cook. 🍝

NEW BLOG ALERT!!!!

A few days ago I lost FOUR WEEKS worth of blog posts I’d been working on. GRRRR!!! 🤬🤬🤬😡

After a much needed break, some drinks and laughter, I finally got back on the horse and started writing again.

Here is a recap of our first 4 months as newly minted digital nomads! It’s been SOOO much fun, that we’ve just taken some time to relax and enjoy the ride.

Wine tasting! We’re working on the blog (I know, finally! Ha!) and decided to do our own little Chablis tasting.

Thanks to our little impromptu Chicago layover/sojourn and for allowing us to drink great vinos! We were SO IMPRESSED with their selection of French whites, that we had to get a few bottles and sneak them into Mexico on our way back.

Spotted, on the streets of San Miguel de Allende, 😻😻😻

A much-needed break from the city, San Miguel de Allende is a 3 hour drive from Mexico City, but feels like a world away.

When you visit be sure to plan for lots of time to meander off the beaten path, through some of the smaller cobblestone streets to admire the real beauty of this town.

Who’s ready for a safari?! Fun fact: this incredible experience is in Ohio!

That’s right, you can get up close and personal with 🦒🦌🐫🦏 and more amazing animals. Spend the night in a yurt, like we did, 🛖 and take in all of the gorgeous views, morning and night! Seriously one of our most favorite trips. ❤️❤️❤️ We can’t wait to go back!

We’re stuck in Chicago. It’s not a bad place to be stranded in. Here’s how it happened.

We needed to get to Cincinnati for some doctors visits. Of course, winter storm Landon was in line with our schedule and would be arriving the same day we were. 🙀 So we moved our flight to one day earlier and thought we’d be in the clear. We were wrong! We made it to Chicago, only to find out that our flight into CVG was cancelled and rescheduled for the following morning. No big deal! One night in Chicago would be fun! So we headed to the and went straight to the

While shopping we were then notified by that our flight was again cancelled. This time moved to Friday. 🤦‍♀️
We adjusted our hotel stay, called our parents and made plans with some Chicago friends for dinner.

But then we realized our cancelled flights meant we also couldn’t make it to the doc visits. 😩 we would however get a quick visit with family and be able to pick up all of the things we had ordered to my parents house—electronics are expensive in Mexico!!

Only now, Landon was looking to be “one for the century” and my mom was getting a bit concerned about us traveling. She suggested we cancel our trip to KY and instead she would ship everything to Chicago. It was a plan! And we have been enjoying our time in Chicago.

But get this! is having some weather related delays and our packages that were to arrive on Saturday (today) will now arrive on Tuesday. But we were supposed to be back in Mexico City 🇲🇽 by then. Looks like we are delayed yet again! This time to Wednesday. 😳

🎶Turn it up!

Taking you guys back to this incredible night 2 weeks ago in Oaxaca City, Mexico! 🇲🇽

You guys know we love a good party so when we stumbled upon this traditional Oaxacan wedding parade we couldn’t help it-we had to join in! Dancing through the streets with giant bride and groom puppets, the wedding party, the family and all of the guests, along with dancers in folkloric attire—it was absolutely magical!

Now we’re in Mexico City and we’re spending some time to scope our our new neighborhood and making our feel like home. In true fashion we’re adding some personal touches to our new home. 🏡❤️

The countdown to 2022 is on and we’re reminiscing all of the amazing things that happened in 2021. Even though Covid wrecked some of our travel plans we still made it to Miami for my very first legit speaking gig, and to the Maldives for our epic 2nd (or 5th honeymoon 🤷‍♀️)… who’s counting?

One thing is for sure 2021 was filled with incredible moments and LOTS of champagne. 🍾🍾🍾🎉
