Simpang Mengayau means ‘lingering junction’ as it is here that the South China Sea lingers and meets the Sulu Seas flowing from the east. The sunsets and full moons are just beautiful. The Pulau Kalampunian lighthouse is a reminder of treacherous coastline and past shipwrecks. On the left is the beautiful beach of Pantai Kalampunian with white long sandy beach and mesmerizing azure blue water .

On the island of Borneo, in the Malaysian state of Sabah, sits the town of Semporna. The Tun Sakaran Marine Park, a collection of 8 islands with dive spots on the Kapikan and Church reefs, is accessible from there. Eagle rays and barracudas can be seen at Bodgaya Lagoon. The rocky Bohey Dulang Nature Trail on Bohey Dulang Island offers expansive views. The green and hawksbill turtle eggs hatch on the biodiverse Pom Pom Island.
