MY ENCOUNTER WITH MR IBU AFTER AMPUTATION...ACTOR INOJIE

"MR IBU... THE INDOMITABLE HUMORIST!
I never thought I could ever be able to relate this chapter of my encounter with Mr Ibu on his sick bed because I had this funny feeling that it had the potential of making light of a very dire situation as his condition presented. Well, the enigmatic humour monger himself, Ali Baba, has given me a soft landing to go ahead.
I walked into his private ward in the ICU in the company of Chinyere Wilfred at whose behest we made the journey to Ever Care where he is being treated. We had just finished from a set, and she suggested that we take the opportunity to visit Ibu. With us were Jasmine, Mrs Ibu, and a woman I believe is her friend.
As soon as we stepped into the room, his eyes lit up, and he retorted:
IBU: "Idiot, what are you doing here?"
ME: "Mumu, why you carry your leg go give mallam to dey cut?"
IBU: "I get sense?"
He would go on to quibble a few friendly banters with Chinyere. In fact, suffice to say that if a total stranger walked into that room that minute, he would never be able to tell who, indeed, was the patient.
From one joke to the other, Ibu literally entertained us. For a moment, i peered into his eyes as if searching for the secret of his willpower, and again, he levelled me out.
IBU: "You dey pity for me? No fear, the doctor say I go fit still use the leg later, even though some betta-betta meat don commot for the leg."
You could never stop wondering where he got the strength under such agonising pain to exude such positive energy so effortlessly.
Then came the moment. I picked his hands from his sides and held them tightly as I muttered,
"Let's pray."
We gazed intently at each other and connected on the fading highways of nostalgia, and upon the instance, I felt a mad rush of hot tears welling up beneath my quivering eyelids. I quickly turned away for fear my animal weakness was threatening to have the better of me, but too late. Ibu was crying, too!
We prayed and cried freely and came to, unconsoled. He wiped his eyes as I did mine, and out of the blues, the Ibu in him reared its head again.
IBU: "Idiot, you go dey cry. Wetin dey beat you?"
ME: "Mumu, you no cry?"
IBU: "Na as I see you dey cry, na him I say make I support you na."
The two delectable nurses tending him laughed and laughed, and you could tell that Ibu made their jobs so very easy with his ebullient mien.
I left his ward with one of life's vital lessons running through my mind... WHOEVER CAN MUSTER THE WILLPOWER TO SURVIVE IN THE FACE OF ANGUISH AND LIFE THREATENING PAIN, CAN DEFEAT DEATH EVEN IN THE MOST FIERCESOME BATTLE.

1.0. General information
- BSc/HND is a sufficient requirement to get a PhD admission in the USA WITHOUT Masters.
- 75% PhD programmes in the USA are free. You don't pay any fee. Some even employ you and pay stipends.
- You will need GRE and TOEFL if your CGPA is quite poor. These are waived by some institutions too.
- The US admission season is ongoing and some some Universities and courses, there are tuition waiver.
2.0. Documents you need.
- Statement of purpose (SOP)
- Academic transcript
- Academic CV
- 3 Letters of Recommendation (LoR)
3.0. What you need to learn how to write.
- Letter of Intent
- Cold Mails
4. What you need to do write away
- Search schools in the US offering your course in the US. Collect the websites and so step 2
- Go to the websites of the Universities, search out the requirements for PhD admission and make a list.
- Search Profs. in your research area and be sure there's someone who aligns with yours.
- Pay attention to Universities that have waived application fee.
- Apply to as many schools as possible. Send in your documents.
- Check your mail regularly in the next two months for mails from the School's you apply to.
- When you get admission letter, reach back to a Prof in the University or the graduate school coordinator for funding and financial assistance. I assure you there are abundant of them in the US.
- Apply for the funding opportunities. Win them and be ready for the next phase.
5.0. Visa Application
- Schools that admit you will advice you on getting a dorm I-20 and applying for F1 visa.
- Get the form, fill and submit. Apply for Visa and get scheduled for Visa interview.
- Get expert advice on how to prepare for Visa interview and documentation.
- Pass the interview, get your visa and book for transport medium.
- Arrive in the US in September to begin your PhD studies.

A Nigerian lady who relocated to Canada a year ago has become a permanent resident of the North American country.
The lady, Oluwakanyisola Onikoyi Deckon, has also bought two cars and a house for herself after getting a job with the Canada Revenue Agency.
In a TikTok video, Oluwakanyinsola also showed off an engagement ring, indicating that she may soon be getting married.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW AS A TIER 4 STUDENT IN THE UK-
1- Students don’t pay council tax. Your university will give you a tax exception certificate, which you will give your landlord if you are renting a private accommodation. You will also send it to your council for them to except you from paying council tax. But if you have a dependant working full time, you will pay council tax but with students discount.
2- Students gets discounts in stores, buses and trains.
3- Register for National insurance number once you arrive because you are not able to get a job without it.
4- Try as much as possible to rent a students friendly accommodation if you are coming alone.
5- All bills are usually included in the monthly rent for single and double rooms.
6-Register at the closest GP.
7- Care jobs are the easiest to get but if you need money ASAP warehouse jobs are easy to get and some offer weekly payments:
8- Register to as many agencies as possible to enable you choose shifts as you like.
9- look for Nigerian/african churches, meeting, groups. Especially mothers with children, you need likeminds for direction plus help with babysitting.
10- Don’t ever feel you are alone and don’t need anyone. Ask for help when you need it:

*England* is a country just as Nigeria, and its capital is *London* just like Abuja is the capital of Nigeria.
*Great Britain* is a collection of 3 countries which came together as one country and has its capital as *London.* Those 3 countries are:
1. *England,*
2. *Scotland* and
3. *Wales.*
When you include *Northern Ireland* to these 3 countries, they become *United Kingdom* (union of four nations) Viz:
1. England,
2. Scotland,
3. Wales, and
4. Northern Ireland.
That is why it is referred to as the *United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.*
Collectively, the four are taken as one country. And when this is the case, *London* is its capital.
Note however that these four individual nations all have their own respective capitals.
Accordingly, the capital of
Scotland is *Edinburgh*,
Wales is *Cardiff*;
