*Points and Lessons from the Usrah (1)*
π³π½ββοΈ *Duties of Hajj by Ustadh Abdur Rasheed Alao*
1. Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam.
2. It is compulsory for all Muslims who have the capability to perform hajj at least once in his lifetime.
3. Hajj can be renewed every 5 years.It is not necessary for one to do it every year.
4. The reward for one hajj in a year is cleansing of all sins of man.
If a person goes to Hajj, perform its duties and stays away from all things that can nullify his Hajj. The *reward* is that he would return from hajj like a new born baby who has no sin.
5. Only one hajj is compulsory others are nawaafil
6. An hujaaj prayer for 40days after he return from hajj can never miss its point.
*Conditions for Hajj*
1. He must be a Muslim
2. He must be sane, healthy and financially bouyant
3. He must have gotten to the age of puberty.
This year hajj won't be held due to covid 19 restrictions and the saying of the prophet which says whenever you hear a plague ravaging a nation, do not go in or come out of such nation
*Compulsory aspect of Hajj*
1. The ihram (clothes put on by the hujaaj)
2. Tawaf
3. Sa'y (Safa and marwa)
4. Mounting mount Arafah
π― The ihram is also regarded as intention for Hajj, as no Hajj would be accepted without the ihram. The ihram is worn at certain miqat, once it is missed, one must make an atonement.
π― Ihram for a male must be two white cloth, one is tied around the waist and the other one is used to cover the chest leaving a shoulder open.
π― Ihram for a female should cover all the parts of her body except her face and her hands. The best colour for female ihram is black.
π― When taking the ihram, no clothes should be put on the body even if it is an underwear.
π― After putting on the ihram, an hujjaj is expected to be chanting *Talbiyaah* "Labika llahuma labaik ......"
ποΈ Tawaf: There are three types of tawaf; Tawaf quddun, Tawaf ifaadah, Tawaf wada'
Tawaf quduun is a welcoming tawaf to Hajj
