Prince Kunle Fatona died in USA last Friday. He was a past President of NANTA. Prince was a very sound, knowledgeable, experienced aviation guru. He made his debut into the industry through Nigeria Airways as a young man. He later moved to Pan American Airlines, then to British Caledonian and British Airways, where he rose to the position of Marketing Manager. He had a stinct with the airlines owned by Abacha in Victoria Island. He was recruited back to Nigeria Airways as Director of Marketing. He returned to British He retired from BA and moved overseas. When Dr. Demuren was appointed DG of NCAA and on advice that he would need to have seasoned commercial hands for his assignment. Remember WT that had responsibility for advising Government concerning IATA issues like BASA, airline issues, travel agency accreditation, etc. had unfortunately been liquidated and the responsibility now vested on NCAA, populated with mostly technical personnel - seasoned pilots, aircraft engineers/surveyors, etc. Dr Demuren then invited Prince Kunle Fatona and Mrs Fatima Garbati, a former head of IATA matters department of WT on contract to NCAA. He was an erudite aviation guru. May the soul of Prince Kunle Fatona and the souls of all faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
