Today, I would like to share the inspiring story of Nicole Kristmann from Soul Shine Guatemala Tours ✨, who has dedicated over 9 years to supporting orphaned children from a Mayan village in Guatemala. Nine years ago, Nicole discovered these children while visiting a small local tienda in the area. She saw pictures of the children, whose parents had tragically died in landslides, and felt a profound desire to help. 💜

🌎 Upon returning to the US, Nicole couldn’t shake the feeling that she needed to return to Guatemala to find and assist these underprivileged children. She flew back to Guatemala, ventured into the jungle, and located the children in their village. They only spoke their Mayan dialect, had no shoes, wore dirty clothes, and lived in huts with dirt floors.

Nicole’s dream was to build a children’s center where these children could have proper toilets, clean water, pure drinking water, showers, food, a place to eat, and a space where the local community could teach them arts, crafts, beading, and provide education in a covered room with lighting at night. This dream is now nearly a reality, thanks to the generous donations of kind-hearted individuals. The center is almost complete, but Nikki still needs $10,000 to finish the final projects. 🫶🏻
