Jette Swinkels is one of the CEED'ers of last year. She traveled along Colombia and visited different local entities and projects related to these LC's. A challenging CEEDership experience which brought AIESEC in the Netherlands valuable input about AIESEC in Colombia, the country and its culture.

What an awesome moment! All the Ambassadors of 2016 have returned last week. They finished their CEEDership with a Reintegration day, that took place at the Rabobank in Utrecht. During this day a lot of interesting and inspiring stories were told. At the end of the day, everyone present could experience the taste of local food from the countries the CEEDers visited. In short: a lot of positive energy and a nice moment to see the difference everyone was able to make!

Culture shock: “the feeling of disorientation experienced by someone when they are suddenly subjected to an unfamiliar culture, way of life, or set of attitudes.” Have you ever experienced something similar?

As an Ambassador you might experience that the daily life in the country or part of the world you traveled to, is completely different from what your own habits and life used to be. Imagine you just arrived by plane and are standing there, in this country where people have a different language, different food, different standards, and wait… even the smell is different! You might feel overwhelmed and taken by surprise of how life can be lived in a completely other way. How would you feel? Would you be able to embrace it and accept this challenge?

"Hi there! I am Barbara and shared a CEED position with my teamie Anne two years ago for the Medicine Project in Uganda. In short, we stayed in Uganda for two months to have a look at the internship there. We evaluated, improved and expanded this pilot project and the Medicine Project, which is one of a kind, is still going strong and growing! These two months were an amazing opportunity to not only learn in aiesec world but also to see and experience a lot of medical and cultural parts of Uganda. And furthermore, Anne and the group of students I was with made this experience. I can honestly say this was one of the best experiences I ever had!"
