Artemis has successfully completed her first
ocean crossing as a sailing ship with Masterskip The start of the ocean crossing was in Cuba with a stop in Horta (Azores) in between. An ocean crossing is quite a challenge and we are very proud and grateful to all crew members who contributed to this! Looking back on an educational and eventful first Masterskip season.

Tallship Fans Day trip at Kieler Woche ⛵️☀️

During the largest sailing event in the world Tallship Company is organizing a fun day trip for our fans on Tallship Artemis!

When; Friday 28 June 2024 Kiel
The day trip starts at 11:00 and lasts until about 17:00. The bar will remain open until 7 p.m. and there will be time to linger after the trip 🍹 At the bar you can buy drinks and snacks. This can only be paid in cash.

Yesterday a big surprise took place for the crew. The Easter Bunny came to visit the Atlantis and the Antigua! A great success with lots of chocolate eggs and happy crew. On behalf of the entire Tallship Company crew, we wish everyone very Happy Easter! 🐣🐰

Yesterday we organized a teamday for the Atlantis & Antigua crew.
We started the day with an introudction from the office crew and new information for the season was shared. After an delicous lunch, a trainer gave us a workshop on communication. Working on a Tallship is very people-oriented: you work and live with your colleagues while providing services to guests. Communication skills are therefore very important.
We ended the day with a beer tasting and a tour at Havenbrouwerij - Het Brouwdok

Ahoy! Today is Alex his 10-year jubilee at Tallship Company💪🏼 Ten year ago Alex started as chef on the Antigua, which he looks back on with great pleasure! Meanwhile, Alex has worked on all three Tallships and is currently chef on Atlantis. Alex best memories of the past 10 years are: Sailing with the Artemis to Sweden, the bay of Cala Millor (where Alex lives now), Barcelona and the rest of the Mediterranen ☀️⛵️. We are proud to have Alex in our team and congratulate him on his 10-year jubilee. Up to many more years!

Championship Frisian draughts! 🏆

Today the Frisian draughts at Antigua and Elizabeth started. An annual event with participants all over the world.

> What is the difference between Frisian and regular draughts?

Before 1700, people in Friesland played draughts in a way we now call Frisian draughts. In those days, competitions were organized by innkeepers, mainly to entice customers to come to their inn. It has somewhat different rules than regular , namely, you can hit in all directions, oblique, straight and across.

This morning Elbrich Bruinsma made the first move and officially opened the championship. We wish all participants the best of luck. 🍀

Meet Bobby(Bob) Werkhoven, thirty years old and lives with his wife in beautiful Scotland. Bob has been sailing professionally for 11 years and working for the company for 5 years now. Bob started as a sailor on the Antigua and Atlantis and has developed within the company. This season will be Bob's first year as captain on the Atlantis. Bob is a true team player and enjoys working with colleagues.

We are proud to have Bob on our team and wish him all the best for next season!

After a good season with many festivals, groups and individual travelers, Artemis has embarked on a new adventure last November. Namely: Masterskip. This project involves a world trip for school children during school hours. There are four trips of six weeks each. There is a fixed daily program on board, in which both the crew of the Artemis and the teachers on board play a role. Artemis began her journey to Paramaribo from A Coruna with a stop in Tenerife, Cape Verde and a 2.5-week ocean crossing. With the current group of students, Artemis is on her way to Curaçao. They just passed the beautiful Union Island where you can see these wonderful photos. Trip number three will start February 4 from Willemstad (Curaçao) to Havanna (Cuba). ☀🌊
