Did you know that the name Keukenhof means ‘kitchen garden’? It started in the Middle Ages, when a part of the hunting grounds of Castle Teylingen were dedicatedfor growing fruit, herbs and vegetables. The present flower garden, meant for showcasing the products of the bulbgrowers, opened to the public in 1950 and received 200.000 visitors in its first year. Today the flower park opened its doors for the visitors for this year.
