Key advantages of the EpiShuttle
What are the key advantages when using the EpiShuttle?
🔵 Superior Patient Care: The EpiShuttle allows for monitoring and advanced treatment during transport, including emergency procedures like intubation, IV and oxygen line insertion. This ensures that patients receive the highest level of care during transport.
🔵 Safety of Health Care Professionals: The EpiShuttle provides a completely sealed transparent barrier between the patient and the health care professional, preventing cross-contamination. This ensures that medical staff remain safe and protected.
🔵 Cost Efficient & Reusable: Transport vehicles don’t need to be disinfected after use, saving time and money. The EpiShuttle is reusable because of our four validated disinfection procedures, making it a cost-efficient solution.

EpiShuttle E-learning training in action!
🔴 Why is medical training important?
🔵 Boosts confidence in usage
The knowledge and skills professionals gain through continuous training lead to higher confidence in the device.
🔵 Leads to fewer adverse events
Trained medical staff who are confident in the device, follow the latest guidelines and protocols. The possibility of adverse events is therefore minimised and errors happen less often.
🔵 Improves patient outcomes
Trained staff are aware of best practices and industry standards. Having this knowledge and being confident in the device leads to providing high-quality care and better patient outcomes.
🔵 Reduces costs and saves time
Trained professionals are efficient and they make fewer mistakes which saves time and resources.
#EpiGuard developed EpiTraining solutions that include live exercises, patient case discussions, hands-on experience, individual learning, and sharing of best practices. EpiTraining equips professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to achieve better patient outcomes.
We believe training is not a once-off exercise. Initial and continued training with medical devices saves lives!

EpiShuttle - isolation and transportation unit for infectious and vulnerable patients
🔴 Why should you use the #EpiShuttle?
🔵 To protect yourself!
When transporting patients with infectious diseases, the ventilation system, special filters and negative pressure inside the EpiShuttle protects you from infection.
🔵 To safely transport your patient to a place of care!
When the unit is sealed, there is no need for PPE. This allows you to focus entirely on the patient and you can also provide medical treatments during transport via the glove and medical ports.
🔵 To quickly get back to saving others!
With the EpiShuttle there is no need for disinfecting the vehicles or hospital wards used for transport. You can quickly get back to other patients in need without losing precious time.
🔵 The EpiShuttle can be used over again!
The EpiShuttle has validated disinfection procedures. It can be disinfected in less than two hours.

EpiShuttle on DMHD
What are the lessons learned from Deployed Medical Healthcare Delivery congress?
Military officials from around the world gathered last week in London and discussed their most important responsibility of all - the health and safety of military personnel. One of the areas of concern is how to safely transport soldiers operating in areas affected by outbreaks of highly infectious diseases and CBRNe events.
There were a lot of great speakers, including our own Michael who spoke about the importance of being prepared for these situations in terms of quality equipment and training. He also gave a brief demonstration of the EpiShuttle and noted that it is already used by militaries in Oceania, Europe, and North America.
The EpiShuttle can be quickly deployed to soldiers in need because of its compatibility with various ambulance vehicles, airplanes and helicopters. It can also be secured using Lufthansa Technik Patient Transport Unit presented by Oliver Thomaschewski.
Being prepared is the key to soldiers' safety. And we at EpiGuard take safety to the highest level.
See a snippet from the congress on the video below.
Thank you from EpiGuard!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all the health care workers around the world.
Doctors, nurses, paramedics and all other health care professionals are spending yet another holiday season in the hospital and on duty helping those in need. Thank you for all the sacrifices that you make and work tirelessly on the frontline to keep us safe. We hope this period will be as easy on you as it can be.
With love, your EpiGuard team <3
How to safely transport infectious and vulnerable patients inside a hospital?
How to safely transport infectious and vulnerable patients inside a hospital?
Transporting contagious, critically ill or injured patients within the hospital is challenging! It requires careful preparation and the right equipment.
To protect the patients and health care professionals from cross-contamination, you need to have procedures in place. When those procedures include the EpiShuttle, transport is safe and
easy for everyone. Key advantages are:
⭕️ no need to wear full #PPE during transport
⭕️ the rooms and hallways used for transport will not get contaminated
⭕️ no need to shut down the wards and hallways used for transport.
EpiShuttle is also used for the transport of immunocompromised patients. In this case, the vulnerable patient is safe from the outside environment due to sealed transparent hard-top and ventilation system inside the unit.
See on the video how to make patient transport easy and efficient for everyone!
How can the cruises safely sail if there is an outbreak on board?
In the ongoing pandemic, it is crucial to secure safety of the guests and crew members on board. If the outbreak emerges, the disease has to be contained very quickly. The EpiShuttle is designed specifically for these types of diseases. If a passenger gets infected the risk of spreading the infection is drastically minimized if the person is isolated and transported inside the unit. After transportation to the medical center, the disinfection of rooms and corridors is not necessary and the cruise ship can safely continue to sail without any delays.
See how the EpiShuttle can secure the safety of the passengers on board and keep the cruise ship operational!
EpiShuttle in Paris
EpiShuttle continues its Tour de France. Last week our colleague Thibaut visited the Eiffel tower in Paris.
En attendant le retour des touristes à Paris, l’Epishuttle les remplace sur le Champ-de-Mars face à la Tour Eiffel.
How negative pressure works?
What about negative pressure?
Last week we talked about positive pressure and how it protects the patient inside. This week we will show you how positive pressure works and who does it protect.
Air ventilation system inside the EpiShuttle generates more than 15 air exchanges per hour to ensure maximum patient comfort and safety. When in negative pressure mode, the system generates negative pressure relative to the environment. The air flow goes in through the inlet filters at the head end, and out through the outlet filters at the foot end. This operation mode prevents the contaminated air to escape the unit protecting the healthcare professionals outside.
Negative pressure is proven to be effective with highly infectious diseases like SARS, Ebola, and also stopping the spread of Coronavirus infected patients. EpiShuttle is in use worldwide keeping healthcare professionals and others near the patient safe from infection.

Positive pressure for patient protection
What is positive pressure? How does it protect patients?
A part of EpiShuttles' double protection system is the positive pressure mode. It stops the contaminated air from the environment to enter the unit keeping the patient fully protected. All air particles inside are filtered by A2P3 filters and cleared from any chemical or biological toxins.
What happens when a patient is immunocompromised or wounded?
According to CDC having a weakened immune system can make a person more likely to get severely ill from infections. The same goes for wounded patients like burn victims. They are more susceptible to catching a disease and need special care and treatment.

Do you want to know how easy it is to safely transport an infected patient?
The pandemic caused major changes to the way we transport patients.
Healthcare professionals are putting their lives at risk every day to transport and treat infected patients. Wearing the necessary PPE can be exhausting and time-consuming and it can limit full access to the patient. With the help of an EpiShuttle, transport is safe for both patient and healthcare professional.
See how easy is to transport a patient on the video below!
