As for the 30-kilometer-long inner circuit, you would start from the north of Darchen tracing back the river and turn left at the intersection. Then arrive at Selong Gompa and trek along the west of Mt.Yinjietuo till the foot of saint mountain where you can see the natural swastika formed by big ice cracks on the south face of Mt.Kailash and rock bed traces at the hillside.
Just right above the ice tongue, hundreds of thousands of prayer flags are fluttering in the wind. And Thegolden chortens (over 5,800m) come into view, where relics of the former Gyangdrak administrators were enshrined. There are many meditation caves too. If possible, you can continue moving forwforwardng the slope, and there is a 100-meter-high cliff in the end.
After the worship, you can trace down from the east face of Mt.Yinjietuo
🇳🇵Limi Valley Trek in Nepal
Visit Untouched Nepal
The journey is at the beginning of a 1000-year-old religious settlement.
The Limi Valley Trek runs close to the Tibetan border at Nepal’s northwest-most extremity and follows the old salt trading and pilgrimage route. The district, known as Humla, is virtually untouched, having only opened to trekkers in 2002, making it one of the least-frequented treks found in Nepal.
Limi Valley is a high-altitude valley that forms the northernmost part of the humla district of north-western Nepal to its north, the Limi valley borders the Purang Country of Tibet
The Limi valley is drained by the Limi river, a tributary of the Humla Karnali river. This valley has only three settlements, the Dzang, Halji, and Til villages. Dzang lies at 3,920m, Halji at 3,700m, and Til at 4,100m above sea level.Halji village is located on the southern slopes of the Gurla Mandhata Massif 🏞
Overview
The Limi valley is the only remaining place where you can still witness the vibrant Tibetan culture and lifestyle, due to the matrimonial relationship between Western Nepal and Tibet. Your trek follows the ancient salt trading and pilgrimage route to the border of Nepal and China, crossing the Nara La pass (15,000 ft/ 4,620 m) and Nyalu La (16,000 ft/ 4,900 m) with spectacular views of the Himalaya.
During this trek, you will have the chance to spot the elusive snow leopard, bharal (Himalayan blue sheep), jackals, kiang (Tibetan wild ass), and musk deer.
The trek will take you moderate to strenuous, including high altitude trekking for many hours each day. The majority of this trek will take place above 10,000 ft (3,000 m), so you may feel the effects of elevation. The best season for this hike is from May to October, as the passes are likely to be covered in snow the rest of the year.
Highlights
Trek for 2 weeks through the spectacular and varied Limi Valley

🇳🇵Mera peak 6,476m).
From summit, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views which take in five of the world’s highest mountains - Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Everest.
Mera Peak Summit
The climb to the summit of Mera Peak starts gradually, and much depends on weather conditions. Firstly, we leave high camp usually at 2 am. It should take 5/6 hours to reach the summit. Secondly, it is important to get into the rest step on steeper terrain. Taking our time will be critical to conserving energy for the descent. As we come to the end of the steep terrain, the central summit appears above the wide glacier, flanked by 2 ridges. We climb the snowfields avoiding the crevasses. This steep section can take 2 hours and is slow going. The route swings to the east of the left hand ridge before turning back towards the main summit ridge of Mera.
Mera has 3 summits, our objective is the highest. This short steep snow slope is easily climbed. Depending on the year, the final climb to the summit may require you to make a short climb. The last 30m/ 98 feet can require a lot of effort, Jumaring on a short steep snow section and you arrive on the summit.
Finally, after reaching the summit and enjoying amazing views over the Himalayas. We then make the long descent back to High camp. We will rest for one hour before descending back down to Khare at 4,950m/ 16,240 feet. Distance 9km round trip. This will take 8/9 hours. The Distance from High camp back to Khare is 1.9m/ 3km and 3 hours.
Proper acclimatization is key to having a good chance of reaching the summit. Our group used the following camps with most members acclimatizing well. This schedule put us on the summit 12 days after leaving Lukla.
Lukla (9,186’ / 2800’)
Chutanga (11,115’ / 3400m) – 2 nights
Tuli Kharka (14,436’ / 4400m) – after crossing Zatrwa La
Tashing Ongma (11,489’ / 3500)
Tangnag (14,108’ / 4300m) – 2 nights
Khare (16,729’ / 5099m) – 3 nights

Gokyo Peak (गोक्यो रि🇳🇵) is a 5,357 m (17,575 ft)-high peak in the khumbu region of the sagarmatha National park . It is located on the west side of the Ngozumpa Glacier , which is the largest glacier in Nepal. Gokyo (4,750 m, 15,583 ft above sea level), at the base of Gokyo Ri, From the summit of Gokyo Ri it is possible to see four 8,000-metre peaks: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu The Gokyo Lakes are in the area.
The Gokyo trek is a fairly popular trekking route. The route itself ends at Gokyo Ri, and trekkers typically turn around at this point and retrace their steps back to the trailhead. There is an alternative mountaineering route that begins near the southern tip of Ngozumpa Glacier and just south of Taujun Lake. This alternative route leads east over the Cho La, a pass at 5,420 m (17,782 ft), where it meets with the main Everest Base Camp trek.
It is usually visited during the circuit trek to Everest Base Camp with the Three Passes Trek. It is slightly off route while visiting Everest base camps (Nepal side) but thousands of backpackers still visit it for the Gokyo Lakes 💦beauty.
There is another higher summit just north of where the main Gokyo trek route ends. It stands at an altitude of 5,483 m (17,989 ft) above sea level.
Best Time to Visit Gokyo Ri
The best time for Gokyo Ri Trek is during Autumn season (September-December). The sky is clear during these months due to which the views are fantastic.
Major Attractions Of Gokyo Ri Trek
There are many peaks above the height of 8000 m which are visible from Gokyo Ri as well as they come on the way to Gokyo Ri. Some of them are Makalu (8485 m), Mount Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8516 m) and Cho Oyu (8201 m).

Mid-Point: Kala Patthar Summit
Kala Patthar Elevation: 18,176 feet / 5,540 meters
Distance: 2.3 miles / 3.7 kilometers
Duration: 3 hours (round trip)

The Everest Base Camp trek is not complete without a climb up Kala Patthar This 18,176 foot / 5,540-meter peak hovers over the small village of Gorak Shep, and is one of the best spots in Sagarmatha National Park to take in the views of Mount Everest itself.
✔The ascent of Kala Patthar begins at Gorakshep (5,164 m or 16,942 ft), the original base camp for Mt. Everest. After a brief dip to an ancient lake bed (which now contains a small lake and a helipad), the ascent makes its way up a series of steep switchbacks before levelling off somewhat as it traverses to the eastern side of the mountain. The trail then becomes steep once again until it reaches the wind-swept summit ridge. From there, a five- to ten-minute scramble over boulders takes one to the top, which is marked with prayer flags. From here You will have 360 degree views with countless mountain peaks in every direction.

How to Climb
The hike from Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp (5,087m) takes about 3-4 hours. Base camp is cut off from a fresh water supply (the nearest water is about an hour walk back down the valley). You will camp at base camp and prepare for the summit push.
Base Camp vs. High Camp
The push from Island Peak Base Camp to the summit is about 2 hours longer than the push from High Camp. It definitely makes the summit push easier if you leave from high camp (~5,300m) than from base camp, but you will need water supplies and porters to carry tents up to high camp to make this possible.
The ascent of Island Peak is mostly non-technical, and there will be time at base camp to refresh or learn new skills. Some prior snow climbing skills are needed. The summit attempt will be early in the morning. It is a challenging climb, and the altitude keeps the pace slow. But the views of Everest, Nuptse (7,879 m), Lhotse (8,501 m), Makalu (8,475 m), Baruntse (7,129 m), Amadablam (6,812 m) and other peaks make it a worthwhile and memorable expedition.
