NEEK was established in a joint venture between young Nepalese Entrepreneur and "Ekarat Engineering The first product of NEEK was launched in August 1992.

NEEK was established in 1990 to manufacture distribution transformers as a joint venture between EKARAT ENGINEERING PUBLIC COMPANY LTD. of Thailand (manufacturer of Distribution & Power transformers) and prominent Nepalese professionals with extensive expertise and experience in the marketing of transformers in Nepal. Since then, NEEK transformers have been extensively used by NEA (Nepal Electrica

l Authority) to distribute electricity in the national distribution network. On the other hand NEEK is fulfilling the country's overall demand for transformers and saving valuable foreign currency from being spent to import transformers from abroad. NEEK has also exported to India and Bhutan. Today, one can see NEEK transformers throughout Nepal, and NEEK may proudly boast that it manufactures the most sought after product of its type in the country. This has been possible because NEEK places utmost priority on the quality of its product and on the satisfaction of its clients. To enhance the faith of its existing as well as potential customers in its product, NEEK has successfully implemented the Environmental and Quality Management System, ISO 9001 & ISO14001, in every aspect of its works. The growth in demand, global competitiveness and a greater awareness amongst customers have become the driving force at NEEK, enabling it to produce quality product of its type. NEEK is proud to launch Nepal's first 'Package Substation' Transformer for Nepal & Bhutan, Partner Licensed by Schneider Electric ushering in a new era of power innovation! A game-changing innovation in the power sector, endorsed by Nepal Electricity Authority.

In the program held at Himalaya Hotel on May 02, 2024, the event
was chaired by Kush Kumar Joshi, Managing Director (MD)- NEEK; Ajaya Kumar Mudbhary, Drector-NEEK, Mr. Deepak Sharma, Zone President and MD of Schneider Electric (India); Kul Man Ghising, MD-Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA); Manoj Silwal, Deputy Managing Director (DMD)-DCSD and other distinguished guests.

Over 220 industry experts witnessed the unveiling of the Package Substation by Kush Kumar Joshi, Deepak Sharma, Kul Man Ghising, and Manoj Silwal.

During an event, Mr. Kulman Ghising, the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, praised NEEK's initiative, considering the new substations a significant technological advancement in the power distribution sector.

NEEK's Managing Director, Mr. Kush Kumar Joshi, emphasized the crucial role of the Package Substations in various sectors, emphasizing their potential to reduce electrical mishaps and technical issues.

Schneider Electric's Zone President and MD, Mr. Deepak Sharma, highlighted their pioneering role in supplying PSS in Nepal. Proud of their partnership with NEEK, Schneider aims to expand its projects. Mr. Sharma emphasized the urgency of decarbonization in light of increasing energy demand, noting Schneider's focus on sustainable solutions, including data centers, EV charging stations, and ongoing HT Underground cabling projects tailored for Nepal.

In the same event, Design Station Pvt. Ltd. & Grand Central Hotel Pvt. Ltd. were recognized as the first customers of 630 kVA, 11/0.4 kV PSS, receiving a Certificate of Appreciation during the event.
