3rd Banking Expo 2019

The 3rd Banking Expo – 2019 was held on 17 and 18 November 2019 in Bhirkuti Mandap, Kathmandu. The Expo was jointly organized by Nepal Rastra Bank, Insurance Committee, Nepal Stock Exchange Board, Youth Self Employment Fund, Banker's Association and Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN).

The objective behind organizing the event was to promote entrepreneurship among citizens through banking network as well as work for the expansion of tourism sector in view of Visit Nepal 2020. The two days Expo saw participation of banking institutions, insurance companies, tourism associations and civic bodies. A significant number of visitors visited the Expo to learn about investments and opportunities in various areas such as tourism, agriculture, hydropower, banking, insurance etc.

Extreme E to be held in Mustang in 2021.

Nepal is hosting Extreme.E race in 2021, an exclusive racing event, in Mustang District in 2021.
To announce this exclusive championship, a press conference was organized in presence of Hon’ble Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Yogesh Bhattarai on 14 November 2019 at Nepal Tourism Board.

Minister Bhattarai said: "We are extremely excited to welcome Extreme E to Nepal. We are confident that this event will serve to further the global appeal of Nepal as an adventure destination."

According to Alejandro Agag, Founder and CEO of Extreme E, this will be the first Extreme E race to be staged in the Himalayas, the highest mountain range in the world. In Nepal the championship race is being supported by ICIMOD and promoted by Nepal Tourism Board.

Electric SUVs will be used for the racing championship with the purpose to shine a spotlight on climate change while promoting electric vehicles to preserve the environment and protect the planet. Previous editions of Extreme E have been held in Amazon Rainforest in Para Brazil, Kangerlussuaq in Greenland and Saudia Arabia.
