Trekking in Nepal
The word came into existence when the term was first used by British mountaineers to insinuate one walking at one’s own pace at a relaxed trot through well-established village trails enjoying close contact with people in remote mountain villages where lifestyles remain unchanged since time immemorial.
The first trekker to walk Nepal’s mountains was Bill Tillman, who trekked in the Annapurna Base camp Trekking , Langtang trekking and Everest base camp trekking regions having gotten permission from the Maharaja (Rana Prime Minister) in 1949…& since that time, trekking has been known to be the ‘king of all forms of adventure’ ever conceived…till date.
EncountersNepal has gone the mile to es**rt backpackers to some of the most enthralling trekking zones across Nepal & over the borders of Bhutan, Tibet & India for over a decade. As a pure adventure operator, the company offers two types of trekking in Nepal: fully organized trekking called ‘camping’ and ‘teahouse/lodge’ trekking.

What are the best treks in Nepal?
With a variety of trekking regions and routes the best treks in Nepal are:
1. The Everest Base Camp trek
2. The Annapurna Base Camp trek

10 things not to do while trekking in Nepali Himalayas

Trekking is one of the most fun and adventurous activities you can do in Nepal. It is one of the top reasons why tourists come here. In Nepal, due to its geographical location, you can find a lot of difficult terrains and venture through them.

Trekking can be adventurous and full of adrenaline. However, there are things you should not do while trekking in Nepali Himalayas. Since you will be in remote areas of Nepal, trekking should never be taken lightly; it does not take long for a trip to go wrong. Plus, taking caution means you will get an adventure you will remember for a lifetime.

So, here are some things that you should never ever do while trekking in Nepal:

1. Do not go trekking alone

Photo: Unsplash/ Simon English

You may be an adrenaline ju**ie or even an experienced trekker. Even if you feel confident and are familiar with the terrain, do not ever embark on a trek alone. Not only is this against the policy of the Nepal government, but it is also very risky and dangerous because you can easily get lost or even die from preventable causes like altitude sickness or even exhaustion. It is also advised to hire a trekking guide because that will make your trek a lot more enjoyable and easier. Safety comes first.

2. Do not walk on edge while trekking

Another safety tip is not to walk on the edges while trekking. Majority of deaths that occur during a hike or trek happen due to falling, so it is better to be safe than sorry. Always walk on the safer side. Do not joke around or pull stunts or take photos at the edges for a better landscape photo. Also, take your trek slow and avoid overtaking anything. If you see an animal, which is common in treks around Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpo, let those animals pass first.

3. Do not overpack your backpacks

Boudhanath Stupa was built during the 5th century AD. The stupa is the most popular site for Buddhists in Nepal, and throughout the day pilgrims can be seen circumambulating the structure chanting mantras. It is especially spectacular at night when adorned with butter lamps. Remember to walk around the stupa in a clockwise direction and also to spin the prayer wheels clockwise. There is a small entry fee (15 daller) to enter the stupa area. This can be waived for guests of hotels located at the other side of the stupa. 🇩🇪 🇳🇵 🇪🇸 🇮🇹 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 🇬🇧 🇧🇷

Fewa Lake-located in Nepal's second largest city, Pokhara, is a beautiful city with beautiful scenery. The most famous and beautiful lake here is Fewa Lake. The river is very quiet. On the rafting lake, you can see the peaks of Annapurna Snow Mountain. There are boats across the lake from time to time. This is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, just like the scene in a fairy tale. There is also a Hindu goddess temple inside on lake Island, you can go to see the local customs.
