Everest Cultural Trail – Trek in the lower Everest.
The 'Everest Dudhkoshi Cultural Trail' in Solukhumbu district of the world's highest peak Everest is a virgin trail.This trail, recently identified in the joint initiative of Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality,Tan,and Nepal tourism board is located at the lower part of Mount Everest. Stretching from 940 meters above sea level at Kaya on Dudhkoshi River to the viewpoint of Aran Hill at a height of 3,310 meters, this trail is an excellent trail for all age groups and all seasons who want to experience the himalayas .This trail is a mine of nature and culture where you can see more than one dozen snow peaks, including the highest peak Everest.The dense forests of Lagi gurans (rhododendron) the national flower of Nepal, wild animals, birds, various herbs and plants, beautiful villages, indigenous group of people like, Rai, Sherpa, Tamang and lifestyle of the local community, lifestyle, culture, gumba and temples are the major attractions of this trail.
Everyone wants to see the highest peak in the world, but not everyone can reach it. Elderly and children cannot walk. Although, this trail is targeted for those who cannot reach the base of Mount Everest. This trail is heaven for hikers. You can travel with your family friend or individual.
This is one of easy trek for all kind of age group of people. The major hike places and viewpoint of this area is Silguri Hill, Ratnange Hill, Kudam, Kudam Point, Yotelmya (Bhote Khark), Damfe Bhir, Zhandi Hill, Jaleshwari Mahadev Temple at Jor Dhunga, Sola Forest, Dhje Hill, Aran Hill etc.Before this the only route for Everest Base Camp and others related trek.
How to reach?
One can reach Siliguri hills in one day from Kathmandu driving (approximately 12 hours) You can also go to Solukhumbu's headquarters Salleri by public transport bus or private vehicle. Above that, sumo or . Saleri is around 275 km from Kathmandu. The hill Siliguri is about 20 km bumpy road from Saleri.
