First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
On this occasion, Lama Parivar Himalayan Treks would like to express deepest condolences for all the people who lost their lives in Massive Earthquake (25 April 2015) as well as our sincere sympathies for all those who have been affected. We are all shocked and saddened by the quake. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims of the devastating earthquake. In the disaster, many people lost their families, friends, homes and jobs all in an instant and, in addition, more than hundreds historical and cultural monuments were destroyed or damaged, enormously affecting the Tourism Business.
The earthquake which occurred right in the middle of Nepal’s spring trekking season, brought the season to an abrupt halt. Nepal’s key tourism products including UNESCO world heritage sites: Basantapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Swayambhu Nath and Boudha Nath have all seen major damages. Furthermore, trekking areas like Langtang, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Gorkha, Rasuwa and Rolwalling have also faced severe damages, all of which will require substantial time and money to rebuild and re-establish fully. Additionally, trekking routes faced further damages with the landslide that occur after quake.
However we were managing, we again suffered a blow as the recent strike of politician at Nepal-India border and its resultant crisis. Nepal is currently facing acute fuel shortage due to the strike, which has hit every sector including tourism. Tourists had just started booking their tickets and hotels to visit Nepal in the autumn season, which is the pick tourist season in Nepal; the strike has again sent a negative message to the visitors. Moreover, the airlines have reduced their flights and increased fare due to shortage of aviation fuel.
Although, airlines are managing the flights as per schedule. Also there are various other trekking routes and tourist destinations such as Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini, which have not witnessed major damages and free from the crisis and are fully capable of hosting tourists. The same goes for certain ancient heritage structures which still stand intact. While many of these heritage sites can be visited anytime, it is heartening to know that numerous structures remain unharmed by the destructive disaster. Still trekking in the Annapurna circuit, Everest Circuit, Langtang Circuit etc are declared safe.
Hope that this year will bring peace and harmony in the country. May this crisis be soon solved and everyone get their rights equally and the entire Business sector could be able to recover the loss that occurred during the disaster and crisis period. This year we Nepalese will remember for the rest of our life. This year had been really worse for Nepal. Hope that these incidents may not repeat again in our country. May 2016 brings peace and prosperity in our country. May the entire crisis be removed and lead the country to the path of the development. Hope to see all the monuments are rebuilt soon. Happy New Year.

In Nepal Teahouse trekking is the most popular form of arrangement which allows trekkers to stay at local lodge and have wholesome foods and comfortable bed. Tea House lodge stay facility is available manly in regular and most popular routes – Annapurna, Everest and Langtang areas. Along the trek you will have some best facility available and some are very basic so it requires compromising with your consideration and keeping in mind sense of adventure. Your guide will ensure that the places you eat and stay in subscribe to the minimum levels of comfort you expect - a clean room, hot showers and a menu of good local and foreign dishes.
