We have an interesting tour coming up on 15th and 16th April: After a briefing at 'Shop with a Story' at Babermahal Revisited we head to R&D Innovative Solutions (farmers support services) and then meet the women founders of Friend Handicraft. We learn about environmental issues and local community support at the Kevin Rohan Memorial Foundation and then drive towards Dhulikel for an overnight stay and beautiful mountain views in a rural village.

On the second day we meet with Rabindra Puri, the hero of architecture conservation and then the visually impaired therapists of Seeing Hands, a massage center. Please send us a message if you are interested in joining and we will provide you with more information.

27 students from American School of Singapore did a day of Hidden Journeys on 28th of May. Divided in a team of 9 each, 3 social ventures where chosen and they spent a whole day not just learning about the story and projects but getting involved in the activities. First team constructed a smoke free Mathrubhumi Chulo with Madhukar ji. Second team made madala art work with support from Prachanda ji. Third team worked on Soap-nuts jewelry and farm with Usha, Krishna and Leela ji. Thank you everyone involved in this experience. We had lots of fun. Thank you again.

2015 was a remarkable year us where we got to experience the spirit of our guests who traveled social ventures to help Nepal overcome the earthquake adversity. We hosted our first 7 days of Hidden Journeys on November and had the year's closing journey with David and Muller visiting various social enterprises. We are now looking forward to the beginning of our social tours for 2016 starting from Feb 28th with 15 Singapore students for our second 7 days journey. Stay connected for updates.

A hidden journey with Luna revels possibilities and challenges of Nepali entrepreneurs.

Naturally dyed shawls, felt and felt products and pencils from recycled paper, a wide range of products that should have an interesting market. But earthquake, fuel shortage and transportation problems due to bad roads also make a business in Nepal an interesting challenge.

We visited the various businesses and were taken by the enthusiasm and joy the ladies put in there dreams. However difficult it gets, the dahl baat is always good. Thank you Shanti Dolma of Kakani Himalayan Natural Dyes for a lovely lunch. Thank you Shanti and Nirjala Shrestha for the colorful joy we found in your workshop. And thank you Luna Shrestha Thakur for taking us.

This time the Hidden Journey was a journey of a lifetime -Bangkok trip was organized by Change Fusion Nepal. Our 12 talented entrepreneurs got to experience a lifetime opportunity of getting both educational as well as a fun trip. A day well spent with visit in different social ventures with an impressive idea provider and the individuals who want to help rebuild Nepal's tourism is Mike Rea, a social entrepreneur who has been committed to creating philanthropic value and impact for more than 15 years and Alexia Nestora in the hope of helping Nepal attract tourists after the Devastating earthquake.
Their visit at social ventures like Seeing hands Nepal ( Chiran Poudel), Nepal Traditional Handicraft Association( Prachanda Shakya) and Mountain Delights treks and expedition(Ram Sapkota) was to learn about their insights on how they are rebuilding Nepal to gain and attract tourist as well as the market after post earthquake devastation.
It was a very inspiring visit as many information and knowledge were gained and in addition the spirit of "Nepal Social Entrepreneurs” was very optimistic and upbeat as they have not given up and are living up the challenges.

Mr.Nick Zuniga and Mrs. Minnar Xia, are couple from United States , staying at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania . Just a day before the earthquake on April 25th, they had booked their flight to visit Nepal but they did not cancel their trip because they wanted to support the economic growth in this difficult time. Mr. Nick is a medical Student doing B.S. degree and Minnar is working volunteer for Refugee people since 4 years. They have joined Hidden Journeys with us for two days- 5th & 6th August, 2015.
First day, they started with a visit to Women Dream's workshop and the Nepal Healthcare Equipment Development Foundation (NHEDF)'s Recovery Clinic, which is a medical shelter and home for earthquake victims in Kathmandu.From there they went to the social venture friend handicrafts, where felt items are produced by 100 women artisans. Then they stayed at Pasa Chhen homestay at Kirtipur to explore the historic city and Newari culture.
Next day was about an early trip to Bhatedadha to view our Dharti initiative which is a project post earthquake launched to reach out o the vulnerable predominant Tamang community. They also met the local social leader Fulmaya Tamang. The next stop was at the Hospital and Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled Children at Banepa where they met with the administrative representative and had a tour of the Hospital's various departments. The journey
ended with them joining our reopening celebration of 'A Shop with a Story', our social entrepreneur's collective featuring authentic Nepali products. We are thankful to Mr. Nick and Mrs. Minnar for being a part of our journeys and experiencing Nepal with us.

Our first one day August tour was a memorable experience where the group of Thai journalist visited our working area at Bhattedadha, Dhulikhel post the earthquake and also met with the community leader and social entrepreneur Fulmaya Tamang. Later, the team set out to explore the workstation of Friend Handicrafts, another social venture which stands for quality products and women empowerment. The day ended with a visit to 'A Shop with a Story', our social entrepreneur's collective store. We are thankful to our guests for being a part of our journey.

Post the disastrous earthquake on 25th April'15, our team was involved in relief and restoration works supporting the vulnerable Bhattedadha community whose detailed updates can be viewed on https://medium.com/. Next we are also supporting our social entrepreneurs chain to overcome the current crisis situation and evolve into a sustainable venture in the long run. The custom tour was designed for guests John and David who visited Nepal Traditional Handicrafts Training Center, SmartPaani and Women’s Environment Preservation Committee (WEPCO) followed by a visit at A Shop with a Story.

John has a degree in graphic design and currently works in a sign shop and enjoys creative aspect and communication involved in the job. David is a former consultant in the electronic medical records industry and loves problem solving and technology.

Nepal Traditional Handicrafts Training Center teaches traditional fine arts and handicrafts skills to preserve Nepalese culture and provide employment opportunities for youth.

SmartPaani develops, installs and maintains environmentally friendly rainwater harvesting systems.

WEPCO is especially well known for their innovation and initiative in Solid Waste Management, community composting; home composting; vermi-composting and bio-gas production from organic (vegetable) waste.

We extend our thankyou to the social entrepreneurs for sharing their knowledge and expertise.
