Maha Shivaratri at Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu is a sacred and joyous occasion that brings together devotees, sadhus, and spiritual seekers in a celebration of devotion, unity, and divine grace. Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On Maha Shivaratri, devotees throng to the Pashupatinath Temple to offer prayers, perform rituals, and seek blessings from Lord Shiva. The temple priests conduct special ceremonies throughout the day, including elaborate puja (worship) rituals, abhishekam (bathing of the Shiva Lingam) with milk, honey, yogurt, and water, and recitation of Vedic hymns and mantras dedicated to Lord Shiva. The highlight of Maha Shivaratri celebrations at Pashupatinath Temple is the night-long vigil observed by devotees. Thousands of pilgrims gather at the temple complex to participate in the jagran (vigil), during which they chant Om Namah Shivaya, meditate, and offer prayers to Lord Shiva. Trekking in Nepal is a popular activity that attracts adventurers and nature enthusiasts from around the world. Nepal is home to some of the world's highest mountains, including Mount Everest, Annapurna, Kanchenjunga and others. Trekking routes in the Himalayas offer breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and high-altitude landscapes.
Popular Himalayan treks include the Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Circuit Trek, Langtang Valley Trek, Upper Mustang Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek, among others. These treks vary in difficulty and duration, ranging from moderate to strenuous, and typically involve trekking at high altitudes, requiring acclimatization. Most trekking routes in Nepal feature a network of teahouses or lodges where trekkers can find accommodation and meals. Teahouse trekking allows trekkers to travel light as they don't need to carry camping gear or food supplies. It also provides opportunities to interact with local communities and experience Nepali culture. In remote or less-developed areas, camping treks may be necessary. Camping treks offer a more immersive wilderness experience and access to remote areas where teahouses are not available. Trekking in Nepal requires obtaining permits, and special trekking permits for treks in restricted areas. The best time for trekking in Nepal is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons when the weather is favorable with clear skies and mild temperatures. Trekking in Nepal involves certain risks, including altitude sickness, extreme weather, and natural hazards such as avalanches and landslides. Trekkers are advised to travel with a reliable trekking agency, have a licensed guide, carry appropriate gear and give time to your body to get used to thin air.

Davis Fall and Gupteswor Cave are two popular attractions in Pokhara. Davis Fall is the waterfall formed by the Pardi Khola stream, which vanishes underground before emerging as the Davis Fall. The name "Davis Fall" is derived from the tragic story of a Swiss tourist named David who was swept away by the waterfall's strong currents in the 1960s. Davis Fall is particularly impressive during the monsoon season when the water flow is at its peak. Gupteswor Cave is located opposite to Davis Fall. Visitors descend a long staircase to enter the cave, where they can see the Shiva temple and other natural formations, and a water fall is seen far inside the cave. The water that flows through Gupteswor Cave is indeed from Davis Fall. The Pardi Khola stream, which forms Davis Fall, disappears and continues underground to Gupteswor Cave.
