There are many upcoming festivals around the corner in Nepal that you might want to observe or learn about. Each of the festivals have their own unique traditions and rituals.

One major festival that is taking place on September 18, 2023 this year is hartalika , which you can be a part of at . It is a three-day festival celebrated by Hindu women across Nepal. During this festival the women enjoy ‘Dar’ which is a long feast which starts days before the initial Teej day. The women keep a long fast on the day of Teej where they don’t even drink a drop of water. Teej, rooted in ancient legend, pays homage to Goddess Parvati. She's believed to have fasted and prayed fervently to win Lord Shiva's heart, impressing him with her dedication. During Teej, women worship Parvati and Shiva for prosperous marriages. Unmarried women seek a partner like Lord Shiva. Teej, is also a celebration of sisterhood, and a timeless tradition.
