There are definitely different critical climate priorities for which are solutions are on the ground, yet robust climate actions which are meaningful and measurable in partnership with Global Robotics Community has to be there. Robotics Association of Nepal[RAN] has definitely worked on different solutions since its beginning adding value of Robotics and AI. There are definitely barriers are preventing the progress in climate robotics, and it needs to be made inclusive with the dialogue between climate experts and roboticists.
Climate Robotics in a majority world is just taking the shape and the step by step progress has to be there. Definitely feeling great to be among examples from different part of the world. Patrick Meier, PhD, Climate Robotics Network, looking forward to exciting discussion today.

For Electronics Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement hardware solutions using STM32, Raspberry Pi, ESP, etc.
Interface various electronics components with microcontrollers efficiently.
Design PCB layouts using EasyEDA or similar tools.
Conduct testing and debugging of hardware systems.
Handle drone operations, including flight testing and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electronics into larger systems.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in hardware programming and PCB designing.
Strong proficiency in STM32, Raspberry Pi, ESP, and similar platforms. Have strong hold on Machine Learning, Image Processing which leads to work on AI(Artificial Intelligence).
Familiarity with drone operations and flight controls.

Mechanical Engineer

Create detailed designs of gears and mechanical systems.

Dr. Sethu Vijayakumar, Professor of Robotics, The Alan Turing Institute planning to support the development of Robotics and AI ecosystem in Nepal.

He talked about his exciting new discovery in his efforts to make AI useful for a nation like Nepal, calling it a significant advancement. Robotics is becoming increasingly important in many aspects of our lives, from traditional areas like car manufacturing and assembly to new domains like smart cities autonomous driving cars. He shared about the vision and how University of Edinburgh's Alan Turing Institute is trying to take AI for the domains ranging from Healthcare Automation to even spaces. He described his conversation with the Ambassador to UK in Nepal about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) may be used to mitigate climatic disasters and to handle logistics in a very difficult setting, such as Nepal. The focus of current research is on autonomous behaviors, or shared autonomy, in which robots must make decisions for themselves. In order to meet industrial demands for everything from food security to infrastructure maintenance, he discussed the significance of collaborative robots and the application of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). He also talked about how NASA is working on tele operating a robot in an environment where we do not have direct line of sight. For example, we could be in a different room, another country, or even on a different planet. With human assistance, the robot can navigate in environments designed for humans. For instance, a quadruped robot can be used in nuclear decommissioning situations in extremely radioactive environments or on an oil and gas platform off the coast of Scotland.

He also noted that a lot of robotics work involves continuous mathematics, such as topological constructs for object manipulation. He specifically mentioned the NASA robot Valkyrie, which is valued at over a half a million pounds and was recently delivered to researchers at Edinburgh University. Their goal is to programme it to behave like a human so that it can perform space exploration that is too risky for astronauts and prepare for a descent of 250 metres above the Earth.
NASA's 6-foot humanoid robot, Valkyrie, is designed to work in disaster zones and space to perform tasks that humans would perform in order to mitigate situations that occasionally arise during disaster relief. For example, NASA is interested in using Valkyrie to perform maintenance on the International Space Station. It is hoped that humanoids like Valkyrie could be sent ahead of human astronauts to explore the surface of Mars, but it should be noted that Valkyrie is still learning and requires multiple attempts to master new skills. Research on a humanlike robot that can perform tasks like balance and motion could have a much more immediate impact.

Professor Dr. Sethu discussed the possible applications of humanoids in disaster relief and rehabilitation, using science fiction as a motivation and exhibiting cutting-edge robotics and artificial intelligence research. In closing, he expressed his interest in human-robot cooperation and the efficient ex*****on of tasks by humans and robots working together.

He talked about the robotic systems that people can wear for rehabilitation; these are very helpful for stroke patients who also have sports injuries or other disabilities. In addition to discussing the state-of-the-art robotics research, machine learning, and data-driven methodologies employing artificial intelligence to make robots more versatile and adaptable to real-world scenarios, he stated that science fiction from Tony Stark is not too far away. He expressed his keen interest in human-robot collaboration, namely how humans may work with robots to efficiently complete shared tasks like pouring wine into a human's glass.

Professor Vijayakumar was involved in developing an AI roadmap for development and delivery of AI and Robotics technology in Nepal and other developing countries on behalf of The Alan Turing Institute.

Sethu had further meetings with the Chamber of Commerce in Nepal as well UK Embassy in Kathmandu and NAST to help create a programme of delivery for UKAID in Nepal in the field of Digital Technology.

Prime Minister commits to promote Robotics and AI Ecosystem in Nepal

The first ever AI Conference in Nepal had the greater presence of Rt. Hon. Prime Minister where he addressed the conference as a Chief Guest. Here's the summary of what he said during the Opening:

The Prime Minister addressed Ministers, Secretaries, Government Officials, organizing committee members and all the dignitaries from development agencies, companies and different Science, Technology and Innovation based organizations and companies.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' commenced his speech by saying good governance can be made meaningful only by delivering services through the 'paperless and faceless' system in the coming age and stressed on the need of giving priority to the use of technology for providing public services. The government will take the necessary initiatives that it needs to take from its side for the development of computer technology, robotics technology, data science, machine learning, internet of things and computational infrastructures and added that the government would move ahead coordinating the policy related to AI with the National Science and Technology and Innovation Policy, 2076 BS and the Digital Nepal Framework, 2019.

He said a budget has been allocated for setting up the Science Technology Innovation Fund, attaching importance to the science and technology sector and stated that the government has pursued various studies and research works in the emerging technology sector. On the occasion, PM Dahal directed the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for creating the opportunities of self-reliance in the technology sector and highlighted special importance would be given to science technology research and innovation in the policy and programmes, and the budget for the upcoming financial year. He also committed that the Robotics and AI sector has been included with due importance in the proposed 16th Periodic Plan as well.

The Prime Minister expressed the belief that the government bodies will emphasize on developing projects increasing the role of AI from the next year alone for enhancing innovation and productivity. He also made it clear that 'ChatBot' services and projects related to metadata analysis based on AI would be implemented with priority for the information of services provided by the government agencies.

Prime Minister Dahal expressed the confidence that the conference with the theme of 'AI for prosperous Nepal – Future of Work “ will support in materializing the dream of building a prosperous Nepal and committed there should be no delay in the implementation and making of AI policy.
