Essene Country Lodge a 3-acre property planted with 29 heritage fruit trees, berries, and vegetable gardens to support our health and other native trees now offers a self-contained apartment close to Cambridge & Hamilton Airport. Essene Country Lodge is park-like so you may walk barefoot through the paddock, under the pines, or redwoods as our only animal residents are Mrs Confetti and Pickles our chooks. Rabbits, pukekos, and different birds fly free at our place. You can soak in the spa, forest bathe, cuddle around a purpose build fire pit with marshmallows to roast. A perfect place for a couple or small family to rest from their journey. You can daydream by the stream, read in the garden or simply walk under the trees. Take a 5-minute stroll and you’ll be at the wonderful café, The Olde Creamery. Originally built in 1892 as a creamery for the local farming community, it now boasts a restaurant, gift shop and popular wedding venue set amongst a beautiful English garden. A 10 minute drive from restaurants, cafes, farmers markets and boutique shopping in the village of Cambridge, New Zealand. Bedroom descriptions
Two spacious bedrooms - One with a queen-sized bed, the other with two king single beds. All rooms are carpeted, clean, light, sunny and warm. Ample pillows and clean linen are supplied. Evergreen - Queen Bedroom
A delightfully light, sunny and inviting room that offers a comfortable queen-sized bed, built-in wardrobe and bedside tables. The large exterior glass sliding door provides convenient access to the deck and spa and a magnificent outdoor view. At night, leave the window ajar and drift asleep to the soft leafy murmurs of the Eucalyptus trees swaying with the wind nearby. Kaipaki - Two King Single Bedroom
Nestled at the rear of the house, the well-lit carpeted room offers two comfortable king-sized single beds. Ideal for the younger family members or friends happy to share a room. It also includes a built-in wardrobe. Location
A 10-minute drive west from Cambridge or 20-minutes south of Hamilton, Essene Country Lodge is nestled on 1.6 hectares of classic Waikato farming land. The lodge is one-hour drive from Raglan, Rotorua or Tauranga and two-hours from Auckland. It is conveniently positioned close to Mystery Creek event centre and the world-class velodrome, Avantidrome.
“Our lodge has become a handy oasis for those attending busy events at the nearby event centres,” says host Colleen. “We also have a lot of rowers, cyclists and wedding parties appreciating the proximity of our lodge, not to mention taking advantage of our well-equipped laundry.”
Other nearby attractions include; Hobbiton (30 mins), Glowworm caves (50 mins) and Lake Karapiro (15 mins). Cambridge is located in the heart of the Waikato horse breeding district and known for it’s world-class stables. The township offers lovely tree-lined streets and some amazing heritage buildings. We also have some fabulous antique stores and art galleries that are worth a visit. Important things to know
• Smoking, parties and pets are not permitted.
• All additional guests must be registered at the time of booking.
• Guests are to leave the property clean and tidy, as they found it.
• We recommend children are supervised when outside, particularly when near the stream. Additional amenities

• Excellent facilities for those pre-wedding events as there is ample set-up space, picturesque backdrops for photography shoots as well as a large full length mirror.

A little sad this morning as I realise our guests from the USA leave us on Friday.
This little family have graced us for 3months as they found employment, established friendships and found their own home.
It’s been great to wave out occasionally, answer their questions about the Nz way of life; engaging and walking with their delightful forever curious 3 year old. Marina Ariana Rose and Nazar Freedom thanks for respecting our slice of heaven, sharing your culture and you yummy cakes 🎂.

I am grateful to be able to host at my accommodation Essene Country Lodge to guests who appreciate the little piece of country paradise that it is and the simplicity that is very much a part of Essene Country Lodge To share the fruit, citrus, vegetables, berries of the seasons gives us much pleasure.

Luckily our guests appreciate and honour our home that we share with others in order for them to explore a difference from their usual place of residence.

It may be you wish to appreciate nature, start building an understanding of natural law or even a relationship between yourself and nature.

We honour the animals which include a variety of bird life, bunnies, horses and cows across the fence, trees, wind, rain, sun and of course the heavens above cause those stars and planets provide a stunning show most nights.

Grateful to our guests over the years who have honoured us by respecting and taking care of our home.
