So we're looking at an open border in to Aotearoa New Zealand in the coming months, including to those who require visas.
Here's some info to get you started. Give it plenty of lead time because things are moving pretty slowly right now.

The Government has announced a new faster timeline for reopening the border and reconnecting New Zealand with the world. New Zealand’s border will now be fully reopened by the end of July – three months earlier than originally planned.

The New Zealand border is finally opening to travellers from many countries, without the need for isolation on arrival. This is great news!

So from 13 April for Australians and 2 May for those from other visa-waiver countries like the US, UK and much of Europe, New Zealand will be open for business.

Now's the time to book for the coming year as bookings will be busy. There's winter fishing right through, or the new summer season opening from 1 October 2022.

Sorry it's Kiwis only at the moment, but with the backcountry rivers opening again there will be some great fishing available.

Feeling like we are waking up slowly after another long hard winter of no international travel. But maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel, with talk of New Zealand adopting a covid passport for international travellers, and an increased uptake in vaccination rates.

The Bay of Many Coves Resort, in the Marlborough Sounds, is a great place to spend a few days sea fishing from. The Marlborough Sounds are close to some excellent fishing in Cook Strait, and the bays further down the coast.
