RED ALERT ON AIRLINES OVERBOOKING FLIGHTS

Due to Airlines within UK and Europe CONTINUING overbooking their flights.

We are required to notify our clients the following:

In quite a few instances this year, I have had colleagues, and my clients checked in at a UK OR European Airport

and the check in staff have advised the client that YOUR AGENT HAS BOOKED A STANDBY TICKET. We as Travel Agents can not issue standby tickets. You must stand your ground at check-in. Make sure you get the full name of the person at check that advises you this information, date time, and inform us, so we can then go to our airline representatives, to get this stopped! Unfortunately this has been stressful for our customers, and ourselves, when airline CHECK-IN staff are being so dishonest!

If you can please make sure you check in online before you arrive at the airport, with the airline you are flying with.

Prepay for your seats.

The airlines that have been the problem so far is Air Europa, British Airways and KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines.

Great news
From 21 June 2022, you will no longer need a pre-departure test to enter New Zealand. An updated Traveller Declaration form will be required.
Most travellers still need to meet vaccination requirements and take 2 rapid antigen tests (RATs) after they arrive in New Zealand.
Travellers whose first international flight to New Zealand departs after 11:59pm (NZT) Monday 20 June 2022 will no longer need a pre-departure test to enter New Zealand. This applies to travellers entering New Zealand from anywhere in the world.

I have my Camp Quality Hat on now. As you all may know due to COVID19 our Camp Quality camp (Kids living with cancer) for January has been cancelled. Yahoo!!!!! Cook Islands Borders are opening to fully vaccinated!

They will be open only to New Zealand from 14 January with no quarantine in either country! The Cook Islands are very fortunate to have remained Covid free to date and we look forward to welcoming you to the Cook Islands.

Yes, you must be 12 years and over and be fully vaccinated. You must show proof of vaccination to enable you to board your flight. Once NZ begins vaccinating it’s children 5-11 years, under 12’s will be permitted entry, provided they are fully vaccinated.

I know a lot of people’s lives/jobs have returned to normal due to the effects of Covid 19, however for the travel industry I have worked within for 35+ years and the many wonderful people I have worked alongside, we are still hugely effected. The announcement of a Trans Tasman bubble is an exciting one for us all, even though there will be plenty not wanting it open.

Air NZ Extends Credits to JUN2023
Air New Zealand is extending its air credits for travel through to 30 Jun 2023 due to the ongoing certainty around international border restrictions for those with international flight bookings and/or fares in credit.

Passengers with an NZ credit now have until 30 Jun 2022 to make a new booking using the credit, for travel by 30 Jun 2023.
Customers who booked, or have international flights booked, that are due to depart by 2359 hours 30 Jun 2021 will now be able to hold the fare value in credit for rebooking through to 30 Jun 2022.
The changes are effective from 17 Feb and apply to domestic and international travel. The carrier has waived date change fees (although normal fare differentials may apply).
NZ’s chief customer and sales officer Leanne Geraghty says the move means its passengers can rest assured their credit will remain valid for longer as circumstances continue to change.
"We really appreciate our customers standing by us throughout the difficulties of C-19, and our trade partners for their hard work and ongoing patience and understanding," she adds. "We look forward to getting Kiwis to more destinations on our international network as soon as we’re able to."
Geraghty says many NZ passengers are already using their credits and that the carrier is ‘hopeful Tasman and Pacific travel will be up and running over the coming months’.
Acknowledging that long-haul travel is likely to be further away she says the carrier has extended the window for opting into credit as well as the length of time people have to use that credit.
At the same time, the carrier says its normal fare rules for domestic travel will resume from 01 Apr.
