I'm originally from Cork, Ireland and have been travelling since 2011. This past year I took on my greatest challenge yet and visited 16 countries.
16 countries in a year, I don't even know if that's impressive any more! I don't know about you, but every day I'm bombarded with a constant stream of Facebook posts and filtered Instagram photos telling me why my life is inadequate and "Mr/ Mrs trave
l blogger" is oh-so superior to me. I'm pretty chuffed with my feat of 16 countries in less than 12 months, it was without a doubt the best thing I've done to date BUT and that's a big BUT (hence the capital letters) it wasn't all plain-sailing. And that's why I thought you might enjoy my blog because obviously I'm going to brag about all the incredible places I've visited but I promise to counteract this smugness with horror stories of 16 hour bus journey's (with no toilets on board) and bed-bug ridden hotel rooms. So here it goes, my first blog I hope you enjoy it.

Here's a unique activity for ya - did you know you can cycle through a national park in Kenya? Yep, Hells Gate is the only safari park in the country that you don't need a vehicle to get through. That's because there's not really any predators here (animals like lions and hyenas). Instead, you'll be cycling alongside zebras, gazelles, etc.

15 minutes from Kinsale you’ll find the Old Head of Kinsale Signal Tower (this photo was taken across the road from the tower) It’s not only a stunning viewpoint but also a fascinating museum. It’s over 200 years old and the museum tells the story of the RMS Lusitania, which was torpedoed by a German U-boat in World War I resulting in the loss of around 1,200 lives.
Head to the small town of Rye in East Sussex, England to capture this photo 📸 Mermaid Street, pictured here is the poster child for Rye! Drenched in storybook charm. Mermaid Street is a winding cobbled street with great views and slightly wonky stone and timber houses. Sort of Harry Potter-ish if you’re into that sort of thing. I am!
The popular Queenstown Gardens walking trail is just over 3 km long and is very easy and flat. It passes by botanic gardens and follows along the shores of Lake Wakatipu for most of the route. This very photogenic swing can be found along this trail – see if you can find it!
A white-knuckle drive down Skippers Road in Queenstown will lead you to this stunning spot. But, beware the road is very narrow and clings to the side of the steep Skippers Canyon. Below is the icy blue water of the Shotover River (known as the richest river in the world because of the amount of gold found in it) 🪙 Worth it? I think so!
