I had my first baby with an underbite. This is often caused by incorrect feeding style by the parents making him hold his beak wrong and then he gets used to how that feels. We are working to correct it, every feed I use a loom band to gently pull it into the right place and then move it up and down to strengthen the muscles and get him used to how it feels in the right place. I didn't take a before pic but it's looking much better. Fingers crossed he's normal soon :-)

With the skies clearing and the temp dropping again these guys have come to join the bigger babies in the brooder. Why are these silly birds breeding in winter 😱

I spy white fluff on the chick at the back, It is either pastelIno blue or ALBINO!!! I've worked for 4-5 years on producing an albino Fischer using my birds, I bred 3 bloodlines of pastelino green/blue birds and made 3 pairs. Only 1 was successful and they are useless parents, they hatch them but don't feed them. These 4 fertile eggs have been fostered to this amazing mum who's eggs were clear, I'm so nervous, hoping the weather stays mild and that when I check again there's 2 more hatchlings and some red eyes 😁

With winter looming and the frosts getting heavier I bought these 3 babies into the brooder. I can't have been checking close enough because I hadn't realized the clutch was a lutino, blue and pastelino. Mum and dad produced a pastelIno blue and green last clutch, hopefully an albino comes in next seasons clutches!
