Lake Titicaca (Puno)

An important lake in Andean mythology, from which, according to legend, Manco Cápac and Mama Ocllo, children of the Sun god and founders of the Inca Empire, emerged. Peru and Bolivia share sovereignty over this navigable lake, which is the highest in the world at 3,810 masl. It has an area of 8,559 km2 and has a maximum depth of 283 metres. The annual average temperature of its waters varies, from between 9°C and 15°C from October to May, and from -14°C to -2°C, June to September. The lake works as a temperature regulator for the area regulator for the area; if it did not exist, the chance of any type of life would be nil. The Peruvian side has various islands, including Amantaní, Taquile, Ticonata, Suasi, Soto and Anapia (natural islands) and the floating areas created by the Uros (artificial islands). Totora (cat-tail) reeds grow on its shores, in which various birds and fish like carachi, catfish and the suche (which is endangered) live. These are all native species, valued because they are very nutritious. They coexist with trout and smelt, both species that have been introduced into the lake. More info to [email protected]

An adventure at the heart of the Eden Peruvian - Tambopata-Candamo, Perú

The twilight of the evening of January will never in my mind, the feelings of my more vivid adventurous soul could not be described in words, but my senses kept stoked that i remember from one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Never before had heard of Tambopata in the region of Madre de Dios, always thought that Peru was only Machu Picchu, ceviche, and pisco, very basic concepts of what they actually meant my trip to Peru, a country that demonstrates not only the warmth of a human being happy and prosperous, but also emphasizes the beauty, uniqueness, magnitude, biodiversity and personality of its nature, a country that has it all, and within it a jungle that is still the best treasures saved of Eden.
I invite you to learn about this ecological paradise where the contact with the nature changed my way of seeing to Peru and substantially improved my experience as a traveler, I am happy to share with you that in our world there are still virgin places where contact with a living nature and innocent still flourishes and shines in all its fullness. I will return to Tambopata-Candamo , eager to continue to discover more of your abundant life, but especially to continue being myself in a place where it is worth enjoying not only with the senses but also with the heart. Kuélap Fortified Citadel (Luya)

Iconic tourism and archaeological site in the north-west of Peru. The political, religious, administrative and military centre (500 - 1450 A.D.) of the Chachapoyas civilization. The entire citadel is surrounded by a long wall with a perimeter of 1,900 metres. There are three entrances, two on the east side and one on the west. The entrances have unique and interesting features, becoming increasingly narrow further into the citadel until there is only room for one person at a time. There are two clearly defined levels inside the citadel. Visit to Kuelap, Come to Peru. [email protected]

The fortress of Kuelap or Cuélap (Chachapoyas, Amazonas, Perú)

Associated with the Chachapoyas culture, consists of a walled city, with massive exterior stone walls surrounding more than four hundred buildings. The complex, situated on a ridge overlooking the Utcubamba Valley in northern Peru, is roughly 600 meters in length and 110 meters in width. It could have been built to defend against the Huari or other hostile peoples. However, evidence of these hostile groups at the site is minimal. Radiocarbon dating samples show that construction of the structures started in the 6th century AD and the complex was occupied until the Early Colonial period (1532-1570). Through the pre-Columbian, conquest and colonial periods, there are only four brief written references to Kuelap. It was rediscovered in 1843.

Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu)
Machu Picchu, Peru - Sunday, February 16 2014
*MY EXPERIENCE BY RENZO BRENNI

Already in Aguas Calientes we find ourselves with a wonderful town. When you exit the train station we walked a little and we find ourselves with a lot of business where crafts are sold. We continued walking and we stumbled upon a bridge over the Urumbamba River. Postcard beautiful: The Urumbamba River cuts the city in two. Look up we are trapped by a dozen mountains greenish. The place has life. The people breathe in rhythm with the Urubamba River.

We ran a few minutes away from the beauty of the place to find a lodging. There are of all types: economic, cheap, medium sized, wealthy and extremely expensive. After asking a little more than 5 hostels, we decided to stay at one that not even had a name. The place can be very comfortable and cozy, but it had a smell of plastic to be commissioned. Then we learned that 3 days ago had been arranged and barely a day ago had been enabled. Bad choice.

We left our stuff in the hostel and we left to tour the town. The central square is quite small and, as with almost all the places in Cuzco, had a statue of the great Inca Pachacutec. The city has no streets. It is made with small passageways where there is room for up to 2 people adjacent to one another. The smallness of the people makes it very cozy. It breathes a different mystical. These meters of Machu Picchu.

We asked where the buses were taken that wafted up to Machu Picchu. We follow the indications and we arrived almost at the same point where we had entered the city. The beauty of the surroundings of the people we had distracted and thanks to that we don t realize the place of which departed buses. The price list was quite high. We had the information that the ascent to Machu Picchu on foot was terrible, so we wanted to pay the $19 (53.43 soles) that cost the raising and lowering in a bus of very good quality. Almost without noticing it, we were just minutes away from reach the cherished destination that we had dreamed virtually our whole life.

We became with supplies of water and something quick to eat and we in the row. The bus departed and we realized that in truth the ascent was quite exhausting. The view is beautiful. We can see the city in the distance and the violent sound of the Urubamba River is heard even on the top of the mountain. The driver, driving by a path quite dangerous, but there was no problem. We finally arrived and we come up with a restaurant on the outskirts of Machu Picchu. We did not even look at it for fear that it would cost. We spent the ticket on the humble ticket office. We walked a couple of meters and we arrived.

Everything that I will try to describe is terribly far from the reality. Not even the great Pablo Neruda could portray faithfully the incredible sensation that is depressing these steps by which, hundreds of years ago, walked thousands of men and women Incas. Everything is there. Our life. Our history. Machu Picchu is the highest achievement of our race. Machu Picchu is America.

We stumbled upon the principle of the city in front of you. All hidden by a mist that over the place. We went up the endless stairs and dangerous and we stumbled against a cliff. Look carefully down. We jump the first question: How many people died constructing Machu Picchu? The place is impossible. Even walking down the stairs is dangerous. After a couple of photos in a wall made with really beautiful stones we walked a couple of metro and we find ourselves with the citadel in front of you. Tremendous feeling.

The first thing that jumps out is the incredible venue they chose to raise his city. The Urubamba River is constantly heard in the distance. Its sound bounces with the dozen of mountains surrounding Machu Picchu and produces an echo effect that transmits an atmosphere than anywhere else in the world you will be able to feel it. Clouds, proud curtains, covers the majority of the show that oses see around you. The place, really wet, tea transmits life. It is not the typical ghost town that had its heyday many years ago, and today, for various reasons, abandoned. This city is not as well. This city is still alive. Machu Picchu has its own beat. Machu Picchu live only by be Machu Picchu.

We toured around. The day, thank God, it was perfect. It was sunny but not nor fell drops. After approximately 1 hour the mist spread, and we could see all around us. Surrounded by these giant greenish life full of the feeling is indescribable. I bailed tears. Di thank you for being in that place and in that time with the woman i love. I saw every detail: Floors, water channels, thatched roofs, giant jungle insects, perfect window

The Nazca Lines - Peru, Country of Ancient Treasures

The Nazca desert covers more than 80 kilometers between the Nazca city and the Pampas of Jumana in Peru. The Nazca lines (figures) consist of 300 figures composed by straight lines, geometric forms and figures of animals. They can measure up to 300 meters wide and due to their size some are only recognized from the air. The lines(figures) were seen for the first time when the commercial airlines began to fly above the desert of Peru in the 1920s. In 1939, Paul Kosok was the first North American scientist who tried to solve the puzzle of the lines. According to the investigations, the Nazca Lines were created by the Nazcas 2.000 years ago. The culture thrived between 300 B.C. and 600 A.D. along the rivers that flow from the Andes. The archaeologists discovered Cahuachi, the shanty town of the Nazcas that was left mysteriously 1.500 years ago.
