Many people have been texting me asking if we can have a clean up drive for our rivers. Of course! As requested, the Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CCENRO) is organizing a clean-up drive starting with the Bulacao (Feb 23), Lahug (Mar 9), and Guadalupe (Mar 16) rivers. Thanks to our friends in the private sector, free snacks will be provided to our volunteers.

Date: September 15-16, 2018

ITINERARY:

September 15, Saturday

0800 – Meetup at JY Square Mall
0900 – ETD for campsite (Bonbon)
1030 – ETA Campsite, Registration
1200 – Lunch
1300 – Start of River Trek/Cleanup
1700 – End of River Trek, Dinner Prep
1800 – Dinner
1900 – Outdoor Ethics/LNT Talk
2000 – Socials, Outdoor Concert
2400 – Lights off

September 16, Sunday

0600 – Rise & Shine, Breakfast Prep
0700 – Breakfast
0800 – Holy Mass
0900 – Outreach program
1100 – ETD for JY Square

Important Reminders:

1. BE ON TIME.
2. The rivertrek is a 3-4 hour hike(overall), with moderate bouldering and half of it is an open trail.
3. Wear arm sleeves or rashguard, or leggings, and reliable footwear.
4. Expect to get wet.
5. Bring flashlight or headlamp, the campsite has no electricity.
6. Bring enough food and drinking water for personal/group consumption.
7. Bring toiletries.
8. Bring packed lunch for Saturday, you can cook your dinner & breakfast at the campsite.
9. Waterproof your belongings, it will rain.
10. Rain gear.
11. Garbage in, garbage out. Bring garbage bags, preferably sacks for the river cleanup.
12. Bring medkits for emergency
13. Camera for memories.
14. Tents for shelter.
15. Meat (pork) & beer (Red Horse Beer) is for sale at the campsite. There's also a designated grilling area for everyone to use.
16. Anyone can jam during the socials, may it be a solo or in a band, just inform us beforehand.
