FluxFun Enterprises is a social venture of open-source advocates. Visit Flux at www.fluxfun.com FluxFun Enterprises or simply ‘Flux’ was born in April 2010.

It was the same year that free and open source system (FOSS) ceased to be a competitive differentiator for vendors and instead became standard operating procedure for everyone (The Register). The choice of name, ‘FluxFun’ is a play of word ‘Flux + Fun.’ Flux originating from the Latin word ‘fluxus’ meaning ‘in constant change.’ We decided to add ‘Fun’ because change does not have to be rigid and b

oring. Flux was originally established to serve as a web-based delivery portal of electronic goods utilizing open source technology. As Flux strived to complete the portal, the demand for IT solutions using open source grew as FOSS became an essential element of a great variety of business models. Thus, Flux decided to refocus its efforts towards providing alternative IT solutions to expensive and complex IT problems. It shared its knowledge, expertise and experience to public and private institutions who have embraced open source technology to further their cause. In its maiden year, Flux partners include the private sector, government agencies, academic institutions, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, and individuals.
