TINGNAN || MGA AIRLINE COMPANY, MAGTATAAS NA NG PASAHE SA JULY 1 -- Inaprubahan na ng Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) ang mga kahilingan ng mga airline company na magtaas ng pasahe na may kaugnayan sa fuel surcharge simula July 1 dahil sa pagtaas ng presyo ng petrolyo at palitan ng piso sa dolyar.

Sa pahayag ng CAB, may posibilidad na umabot sa Level 11 ang passenger fuel surcharge matrix. Ito ay nangangahulugan na mula sa dating P358 ay tataas na sa P1,038 ang panibagong dagdag fuel surcharge sa domestic flights depende sa layo, samantalang mula sa P1,172.08 ay tataas sa P8,714.84 naman para sa international flights.

Ayon sa CAB, tumaas na ang presyo ng jet fuel sa pandaigdigang merkado at ng exchange rate. Sa pahayag ni Atty. Blem Moro, ang hearing examiners chief ng CAB, sinabi niya na base sa kanilang isinagawang review noong Abril at Mayo, nasa P155 kada bariles ang fuel at ang palitan ng dolyar at piso ay P52.

"Medyo marami na ring airlines--atin pong local airlines--nakapag-apply na rin ang Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, at iba pang foreign carriers ng [pagtaas]," pahayag niya.

Magtatagal ng isang buwan ang ipinatupad na fuel surcharge na bahagi ng evaluation period. Ayon pa rin sa CAB, wala namang pag-galaw sa base fare ng airline companies. Ang pagdagdag ay depende rin umano sa galaw ng merkado.

STATEMENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA POST BY A CEBU PACIFIC PILOT

Since becoming aware of the social media post by one of our pilots in reference to a flight of Vice President Leni Robredo, I confirm that the pilot has made it clear to us that he had no basis for his claim and was purely speculative and careless on his part.

While the pilot posted his commentary on his own accord, a post he has since removed, on behalf of Cebu Pacific, and as Head of our Pilot Group, I take command responsibility and apologize unreservedly to the Vice President and the general public for the actions of our pilot. As professional aviators and free citizens of this country, we are free to express opinions, but we are also expected to carry out our roles and duties with utmost discernment and caution.

Cebu Pacific has very strict social media policies covering all of its employees and such a post should not have been published. This is recognized by the said pilot himself. He is currently under disciplinary review in accordance with our Company rules and standards.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS COMMUNITY PANTRY IN MAGINHAWA?

A resident of Quezon City installed a community pantry using a bamboo cart along Maginhawa Street on Wednesday.

Passersby are encouraged to donate food items and other basic goods by leaving them in the cart.

According to Ana Patricia Non, the woman behind the initiative, people have started donating items for the community pantry. These include canned goods, other grocery items, and medical items such as vitamins and face masks.

According to her, it will be operational from 6AM to 6PM.

"Wag mahiyang kumuha andun lang po ‘yun. May hand sanitizer din para sa mga kukuha at mag-iiwan. Kung kayo ay nasa neighborhood pwede din kayo mag-iwan sa community pantry ng groceries," she wrote.

Non also urged others to start their own versions of the community pantry in their respective communities.

LOOK || The domestic flights going in and out of the Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPIA) is set to resume starting November 1.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in Puerto Princesa announced on Monday the new flight schedules, subject to changes depending on the travel restrictions from the local government unit.

Quarantine protocols for incoming passengers would still be enforced based on the existing issuance from the City IATF.

The flight resumption would be open for all individuals coming from areas under general and modified general community quarantine (GCQ and MGCQ).

This, after the national inter-agency tsk force on the management of emerging infectious disease (IATF-MEID), through chief implementer Carlito Galvez issued a memorandum for the said policy to the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), easing the air travel restrictions last week.

The city government of Puerto Princesa suspended the flights mid-October after a surge of COVID-19 local transmission cases were observed. As of Monday, only 12 active cases out of 117 confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported. | via Romar Miranda
