Mount Kabunian, Home of the Sky God Kabunyan
📍Mount Kabunian, Home of the Sky God Kabunyan
📌Bakun, Benguet
According to its history, Mt. Kabunian is named after the highest deity or goddess of the Kankanaey myth named Apo Kabunian. Born of the skyworld, this Igorot God was held to be the father of lesser gods and mankind.
Mt. Kabunian has an elevation of 1789 meters above sea level or 5869 feet. It is a sacred mountain in Bakun and it’s often called the “Home of the Sky God Kabunian”.
This mountain is a semi-major climb due to its slope, but it will give you satisfaction when it comes to its scenic and landscape views of nature.
It was a great hike, met new people, make friends and know their compassion when it comes to their goals. What I’ve noticed to each one of them is the thought of “Finish what you’ve started”, the patience, the determination and their love to our nature will always be treasured. Til’ we meet William, Ron, Soph, Mami Peng, Ate Sion, Kuya Mart, Evalyn, Elyca, Mykee, Mariz, Mami Salve, and Kim 🩵🩵

Mount Amuyao
Mount Amuyao via Barlig Backtrail
Mount Amuyao is located in Mountain province, with an Elevation of 2,702+ meters above sea level, with difficulty of 6/9. Features of Mossy Forest, Rice terraces, Pine trees and the unstopped trail of stairs. This mountain was known to its sea of clouds and a 360 degrees view in the summit, where you can see Mt. Pulag and Mt. Napulawan.
The mountain was also rich when it comes to “Flora and Fauna”, there is a lot of variety of plants and trees and what catches of my attention is the other specie of rodent (I don’t know what it called).
This is not my first time to climb Mt. Amuyao, but all I can say that it never failed to amaze me to its beauty. A sweet come back, as God gave us good weather from the time we started and finished the climb. It was a good memory to be added in my core, as I’ve made a new set of friends.
There is no reason to not coming back. See you again and again, Mt. Amuyao 🩵⛰️
Mount Tapulao, Highest peak of Zambales
Mount Tapulao
Its name is derived from the abundance of Sumatran Pine trees in the area, known in Zambal as tapolaw. The mountain was once a site of a large-scale chromite mining operations. The destruction of the beautiful natural scenery is visible in the mine pits on the summit as well as other related structures along the trail.
Mount Tapulao is Dubbed in 2 descriptions, TapuLOVE and TaPILAY.
We called it TapuLOVE, because of the extraordinary scenic views and landscape that the mountain can offer. It is giving a kind of “Folklore”, “Silent Hill” and “The Mist” vibes due to the Pine trees and when it started to get foggy.
The KM 16 is the camp site, where you can have your lunch and socials with co-mountaineers before continuing the ascent to summit.
The Rocky and Muddy trails is one of the challenges along the trails, as you need to be careful in every step you take as it was unstable and slippery even if it’s dry.
The Mossy Forest, where all the enchanting and creepy stories have been made. Goosebumps and eerie feelings, once you entered the Mossy forest of Mt. Tapulao. If you already heard a stories about the creepy experiences inside the forest, there is only 2 choices; it’s either you stay in KM16 or proceed with trail buddy.
The Summit, the most rewarding and fulfilling moment after the long hike. The summit was covered of different variety of plants, including the century tree.
I guess you wondered? How does it called TaPILAY?
The description was derived from the first major climb joiners/hikers. Some of the first time joiner of major climbs got injuries, cramps and sprain, due to the long trails, rocky and muddy trails, ascent descent trails and the climb was also a back trail and you have to take the same path from where you started.
It was good to be back after 2 years with 12 strong people with me, and to end up the June 2024 with a bang 🩵 Til’ we meet again in trails Justine, Mel, Mikey, April, Jang, Mayie, JD,

“Mount Timbac x Mount Tabayoc and 4 Mystical Lakes”
The four mountain lakes, which are called Tabeo, Incolos, Latep Ngapos, and Bulalacao/Ambulalakaw. Including Junior Pulag is a part of the "Tabeyo Trail" a.k.a "Four Lakes Trail".
Mt. Tabayoc, in Kabayan, Benguet, is the second highest mountain in Luzon and the sixth in the Philippines. Like its southern neighbor, Mt. Pulag, it has name variants, such as Tabayac or Talbayog. The meaning of the name, in the native tongues, is “basin”, alluding perhaps to the four lakes in its base: Lake Tabeo, Ambulalakao, Iculus, Detapnaco. All the lakes can be visited together with a hike to Tabayoc.
With an elevation of 2717 meters above sea level, Mt. Timbak in Benguet is the 3rd highest peak in Luzon and the 9th highest in the Philippines. Its major jumpoff point is at KM 55, Atok, Benguet, and is easily accessible from the Philippines' Summer Capital of Baguio City. Mt. Timbak is also known by its other name of Mt. Singakalsa and is usually done as part of the "Luzon 3-2-1," trail wherein hikers take on Luzon's top three highest peaks (Pulag, Tabayoc, Timbak) in one hike.
