Climbers summit K2 at 3:00am Pakistan time!

Earlier, rope fixing sherpas were reported late to fix the rope to the summit according to initially planned, but as they kept pushing, late but they did it well, and climbers standing behind in que below the Bottleneck were given green signal to continue pushing up to the top.

There were team members and sherpas from Madison Mountaineering who were on the top first and who reportedly were leading the route all the way from camp 3 to the summit.

Among the nightly first summitters, Ms Nelly Attar from Lebanon became the first Arab Woman to achieve the K2 summit in history, and Ms Krisli Melesek to be the first women K2 climber from Estonia. Ms Melesek is also the first Estonian women to summit Everest.

More summits now expected as dozens of climbers already on the mountain waitng to get the route open. Congrstulations to all summitters, prayers needed for their safe descend and happy return home. Best of luck to other climbers still to go up!

K2 Summit Push delayed:

It looks like there been a change in summit timeline on K2 today.

Rope fixing team were grappling with the bottleneck traverse this aftenoon, they are now reported to have reached near the summit but still unfinished with their work.

Strong wind and knee deep snow forced the sherpa rope fixing teams to stay behind the timeline.

According to the original plan, the first group of climbers supposed to get back to camp 3 from the summit on July 21st.

There are record number of teams on K2 this year, most on the mountain with a hope to avail the short window opportunity. Many already on camp 3 since 2 days waiting for a green signal from route fixing team.

K2 is known as tough and unpredictable, on the other hand there are tougher and experienced mountaineers like Nirmal Purja, Mingma G and others leading their teams. Hopefully any change plan doesn't affect their performance, health and team management!

The moment we get any update, we will share . We hope everything is fine with them, and soon today or tomorrow we will get summit and safe return news from all of them.
