Karambar Lake, located in the remote region of Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan, is one of the highest alpine lakes in the world, situated at an elevation of about 4,272 meters (14,016 feet) above sea level. This stunning freshwater lake is renowned for its pristine beauty, surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks and lush green meadows, making it a picturesque spot for trekkers and nature enthusiasts. With a length of approximately 3.9 kilometers and a width of 2 kilometers, Karambar Lake is the second-highest lake in Pakistan and the 31st highest in the world. The lake's crystal-clear waters are fed by glacial melt, supporting a unique ecosystem and offering a serene escape into nature's untouched wilderness.
Trekking to Karambar Lake is an adventurous journey that typically takes around 7 to 10 days, depending on the chosen route and starting point. The trek is challenging, featuring rugged terrain, high-altitude passes, and breathtaking landscapes. Trekkers often start from Mastuj or Lashkargaz and must be well-prepared for remote conditions, ensuring they have proper gear, supplies, and possibly the assistance of local guides familiar with the region.

FIRST EVER ACROSS THE HIMALAYAS BY MOTOR TRANSPORT By M.M.Munshi
It was and is still believed by most of us that earliest record of motor transport having surmounted the Great Himalaya Range was made by a couple of Honey Staurt tanks and few weapon carriers of the 7th Light Cavalry supporting the Infantry in storming of the 11,500 high Zojila Pass in relief of the Leh operation on 4th November 1948.
In reality the earliest record of motor transport of having not only surmounting but also having crossed the great Himalaya Range was made by half tracks of the Trans Asiatic Harrdt-Cintrogen Expedition in crossing the 14,000 ft high Burzil and other passes between Srinagar and Gilgit and beyond in 193
