Abbottabad is one of the scenic districts of Hazara division in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Its neighboring districts are Mansehra to the north, Muzaffarabad to the east, Haripur to the west, and Rawalpindi to the south.
The district is named after Major James Abbott, the first deputy commissioner of Hazara (1849–1853).
The video-documentary on Abbottabad pinpoints various tourist resorts in the district.
The documentary begins with an overview of lush green plains and hills presenting a panoramic scene to the visitors and lovers of nature. The camera then clicks on the bustling park of the city and the beautiful Ilyasi Mosque in the foothill.
Abbottabad church is another segment of architectural beauty captured by the videographer followed by Shimla Hill Park and Harnoi Park. Tourists and visitors, including men, women and children could be seen enjoying the visit to the scenic site. Nathiagali is a mountain resort town located at the center of the Galiyat range, where several hill-stations are situated, closely connected to each other, and with their names mostly ending in 'Gali'.
Nathiagali is known for its scenic beauty, hiking tracks and pleasant weather, which is much cooler than the rest of the Galiyat due to it being at a greater altitude.
Tourists can be seen buying beautiful handicrafts and other items in Nathiagali.
The videographers then focuses the camera on St. Mathew Church in Nathiagali before going to Ayubia National Park, where one can see beautiful animals including tigers and deers.
Mashkpuri Top and Thandiani Top are other scenic resorts in Abbottabad for the tourists to come and enjoy stay here. The lofty hills with lush green tall trees and cold smokes make a beautiful view to watch.
The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) Rest-house and the Camping Pods in Thandiani Top have been facilitating the tourists by providing stay that has boosted the tourism activity in the scenic resort manifold.
The camping pods and provision of other facilities including tent villages and parks have attracted a large number of tourists to the scenic spots of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The tourism has got a boost in the province owing to the camping pods set up in Thandiani in Abbottabad, Bashigram in Swat, Sharan in Kaghan, Yakh Tangai in Shangla and Sheikhbadin in Lakki Marwat and elsewhere in KP.
The camping pods are the best residential as well as recreational and enjoyment facilities for the families. They are either consisted of two or four bedrooms with washroom, kitchen, children’s play areas, parking lots and bonfire.
There are also tent villages for the enthusiasts of adventure tourism.
