Aleksander Doba, a Polish adventurer, was the first person to row the Atlantic from Europe to New York, completely alone and without assistance. In 2017, at age 70, he rowed 5,000 miles from the port of Le Conquet, France, to the shores of New York, braving storms, strong currents and the loneliness of the ocean for 110 days.
