At the end of August, a rock music festival launches in Krakow, which, as it advertises itself, promotes music that brings generations together.

The Rockowizna festival 🤘 hosts artists from both Poland and abroad on its stages. In August, the festival already took place in Gdansk and Poznan, and now it's time for the capital of Malopolska. In Krakow, the event will take place from 30.08.-31.08. on the grounds of the Aviation Museum ✈️.

🎵 The congregation of rock music fans will have the opportunity to enjoy and sing along to classics by Polish bands such as Lemon, Nocny Kochanek and Coma. The musical stage is also open to guests from abroad, including the already well-liked in Poland Royal Republic, who will thrill the crowds with their energy and dynamic rhythm 🎸.

In addition to concert entertainment, there will also be food outlets offering a variety of cuisine and refreshing drinks 🍺.

Sounds like a plan for the last weekend of summer? I think so!

🎶 Polish Music at Its Best! 🇵🇱

Męskie Granie is a festival that brings together the biggest stars of the Polish music scene in one place. Experimenting and blending different music genres and artists have become the essence of Męskie Granie. Despite what the name might suggest, it is not dominated by male artists. Over the years, the Polish stage has seen artists of all genders. The first edition of Męskie Granie kicked off in 2010. The festival was conceived and sponsored by Żywiec, a well-known Polish brewery and part of the global Heineken group.

Every year, the festival takes place in major Polish cities such as Gdańsk, Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, and Poznań, with the final concert held in the city of Żywiec due to its origin. Annually, about 130 concerts are held across 4 to 7 cities in Poland, with the concert tour lasting approximately 14 days.

A tradition of Męskie Granie is the annual premiere song, recorded by a supergroup created for the occasion and released as the anthem for that year's festival. Since 2014, the supergroup has been named Męskie Granie Orkiestra, performing a specially prepared concert at the festival featuring covers of Polish songs and their anthem.

🎤 Check out this year's Męskie Granie Orkiestra 2024 Anthem: https://youtu.be/v587yNSTPTo

Each year, Męskie Granie gathers not only more artists but also thousands of enthusiastic fans. Attending a concert is a unique opportunity to experience the exceptional musical atmosphere in Polish style. 🎸🎵

⛵ Sail in Poland! 🇵🇱

Poland is an ideal vacation destination for water sports enthusiasts, as it enjoys exceptionally favorable conditions for them – with access to the sea 🌊 and numerous lakes 🏞️.

This promotes a well-developed sailing infrastructure, suitable for both beginners and experienced sailors.

For sailing enthusiasts and those seeking unique experiences – here are the most beautiful lake sailing routes in Poland:

WESTERN POLAND

🚤 Along the Oder River
For less experienced sailors, the Oder River is perfect. As the second-largest river in Poland, it is regulated, making navigation relatively easy. While you need to be cautious of barges and inland ships 🚢, it remains one of the easiest routes in Poland. Numerous ports ⚓ and interesting cities await those sailing along the river.

🌊 Szczecin Lagoon
Similar to the Oder, the Szczecin Lagoon is ideal for those just starting their sailing adventure. The route is calm and connects with many European waterways, allowing for sea voyages abroad 🚤.

THE GREAT MASURIAN LAKES TRAIL

Sailing routes in Masuria are often the first areas associated with sailing in Poland. About thirty Masurian lakes connected by several canals create a unique water area for sailing ⛵. The length of the Great Masurian Lakes Trail (WJM) is about 120 km, making it the most popular sailing route in Poland. Every year, around 20,000 yachts sail here 🚤.

THE BIESZCZADY SEA
"The Bieszczady Sea," as Lake Solina is called, is one of the best places for sailing trips. It attracts water sports enthusiasts, making the water often crowded. However, it's still easy to find quiet spots to admire the beautiful views 🌅 – of which there are plenty. The surroundings of Lake Solina are rich in flora and fauna, with charming coves, marinas, and islands 🌴 where you can rest from the often-changing winds. Those who value peace and quiet will be pleased to know that the lake has a quiet zone 🤫.

PODHALE INVITES YOU TO SAIL
Lake Czorsztyn – this artificial reservoir is one of the most popular places for sailing trips ⛵. No wonder, as from the boat, you can admire two magnificent castles 🏰 standing by the water. It's worth planning your trip to combine the thrill of sailing with exploring these extraordinary monuments. The medieval fortresses in Czorsztyn and Niedzica still evoke admiration despite the passage of time.

🔥🥙 Happy International Kebab Day, food lovers! 🥙🔥

Today, we celebrate the delicious diversity of kebabs from around the world! Whether you love the juicy döner kebabs of Germany 🇩🇪, the flavorful shish kebabs of Turkey 🇹🇷, or the spicy seekh kebabs of India 🇮🇳, there's a kebab for everyone to enjoy.

The word "kebab" is believed to have originated from the Arabic word "kabāb," meaning roasted meat. The history of kebabs dates back to ancient times. The modern global spread of kebabs can be attributed to migration and globalization. Turkish immigrants introduced the döner kebab to Europe in the 1970s, where it quickly became a popular street food.

The first kebab place in Europe opened in the early 1970s in Berlin. Kebab immediately gained popularity as a quick, cheap, and filling meal. To this day, it's the most popular German street food with 1.3 billion servings per year! 🇩🇪❤️ The Germans love kebabs so much that, in the face of recent price increases ("donerflation"), the German Left proposed government subsidies for kebabs.

Kraków is one of the top 3 cities in Poland where kebab is the most popular, so if German kebabs are too expensive for you, come to Kraków and check out some of the top Kraków kebab places selected by the 4travel Team:

- JAMRA
- Kebab Pod 13

🌱🇵🇱 Discover Vegan Culture in Poland! 🇵🇱🌱

Poland's vegan scene is growing rapidly, offering incredible flavors and inspiring places for every plant-based cuisine enthusiast. Veganism is not just a trend; it's a lifestyle that is capturing the hearts of Poles worldwide. Did you know that in Poland you can find not only delicious vegan versions of traditional dishes but also completely new culinary experiences?

🥗 Popular Vegan Dishes in Poland 🥗

Vegan Pierogi – Delicate dough filled with aromatic fillings like cabbage, mushrooms, lentils, or spinach. These delicious little pockets of flavor are the essence of Polish cuisine in a plant-based version.

Plant based bigos – Vegan bigos, a traditional stew made with sauerkraut, but instead of meat, you'll find oyster mushrooms, tempeh, or tofu.

Tofurnik – A vegan cheesecake made with tofu, perfect for any sweet tooth. It comes in many flavors, from classic vanilla to chocolate or fruit.

Vegan Tomato Soup – An aromatic tomato soup, often enriched with coconut milk, with millet or rice, perfect for warming up on cold days.

Vegan Sausage – A tasty alternative to traditional sausage, made from seitan, peas, or soy, perfect for grilling.

Pancakes with Plant Milk – Delicate pancakes that can be filled with sweet or savory fillings, from fruits to spinach and tofu.

📜 The History of Plant-Based Cuisine in Poland 📜
Veganism in Poland has its roots in the rich tradition of plant-based cuisine that dates back centuries. Even in pre-Christian times, our ancestors consumed a lot of vegetables, fruits, grains, and legumes. The Lenten traditions in Catholic Poland, which promoted meatless dishes, also had a significant influence on the development of plant-based cuisine.

In the 20th century, especially after World War II, Polish cuisine became more meat-dominated, but in recent decades there has been a return to roots and growing interest in plant-based diets. It started with vegetarianism, and in recent years, with the global trend, veganism has gained popularity.

Modern vegan cuisine in Poland is synonymous with creativity and diversity. Polish cities offer more and more restaurants and cafes specializing in plant-based dishes, attracting both vegans and those interested in a healthy lifestyle. As a result, vegan versions of traditional Polish dishes, such as pierogi, bigos, or schabowy, are becoming more common and appreciated.
