Culebra Island, located about 17 mi (27 km) east of Puerto Rico, has green forests, spectacular sandy beaches, and beautiful blue ocean water. Plus, just to its east are coral reefs.

Culebra’s reefs face natural and human stressors. These include global changes from climate change, like the ocean becoming warmer and more acidic, as well as local changes, such as population growth and coastal development.

El Flamboyan

This beautiful and umbrella-like tree originated in Madagascar and is a species of flowering plants. It has been planted in many tropical regions around the world, including Puerto Rico brought by the Spaniards.

The showy flowers are appealing but for Puerto Ricans, this tree is a symbolic tree which symbolizes pride, hope, and rest. The glowers on the tree can be red, orange or yellow but the red flowers presented in the picture are called “Delonix Regia” which happens to be Puerto Rico’s national flower.

The Puerto Rican parrot, also known as the Iguaca, is the last remaining species of parrot native to U.S. territory.

Found only on the island of Puerto Rico, this species of bird prefers to snack on the fruits of the Sierra Palm, Tabonuco and Cupeíllo trees. Wild parrots also supplement their diet with young leaves, seeds, and flowers.

Parrots raised in the care of humans as part of the Puerto Rican Parrot Recovery Program are fed fruits as well as vegetables, rice, beans, oats, and a formulated dietary supplement. This diet gives the birds the strength needed to be released into the wild 💪

Stored away are the snow skies.
Here we stay in our short sleeves
We sing a new song
Here is where we belong!
Living in a Winter Wonderland.

In The yard we can plant a palm tree,
Then pretend to shovel lots of snow,
You'll say,"Do you miss it?"
I 'll say, No Ma'am,
I feel younger by the minute,
Don't you know!

Later on we'll conspire
And grill some ribs on the fire,
The plans that we made
Include Sun and Shade,
