Welcome to San Juan, Puerto Rico, a city of beauty and splendor that embraces both the old and the new worlds. This sea port town is filled with colonial architecture, historical forts, and the famous Isla Verde Strip where casinos, bars, and restaurants rule. The hop on, hop off San Juan city sightseeing excursion bus is a wonderful way for you to both see the sights, and pick and choose a favored location where you can stop and wander for a while. This is the famous double-decker Hop On, Hop Off Bus. With an all-day bus sightseeing excursion pass you can choose to ride the entire route, or get off at a particular spot and then get back on when you'd like. The bus runs all day, so wait time should be minimal. From the top deck, you'll have a great view and will be able to enjoy lots of additional information from the headphones in 7 languages. There are two exciting shore excursion routes to choose from, Red, or Blue. Do one or the other or even do both! The Red Route travels through Old San Juan and Condado and you'll have the opportunity to see cobblestone streets along with such historical landmarks as the Morro Castle, which is a 400-year old fort that sits on the shoreline. The most popular attraction on the island, the Morro (Castillo de San Felipe del Morro) was the city's first defense from seafaring marauders. An impressive structure, the Morro Castle has had additions continuously built on for 400 years all the way up to the 1940s when it was occupied by American Forces. The Red Route also includes other historical landmarks such as the San Cristobal Castle (a world heritage site), the V Century Monument, Plaza Colon (a lovely square with a famous fountain dedicated to Christopher Columbus), and the famous Isla Verde Strip just next to Condado. The Condado is a rich, bustling, tourist location and the Isla Verde Strip is host to bars, restaurants, and exciting casinos. There is lots to choose from with the red route. Ride the entire route for 90 minutes, or step off whenever you'd like at its many locations. The Blue Route is shorter in length for traveling time. You can enjoy 60 minutes of sightseeing from start to finish without stepping off. But, if you do, be prepared for some great stops such as the Isla Verde Mall, a thriving shopping location close to the ocean. Calle Tartak, which is an elegant street filled with resorts, shops, and restaurants along the shore with beautiful views and Ashford Avenue where one can find everything from casinos to high-end clothing stores. The Blue Route also includes many ways to find a great beach to relax on and a thorough exploration of the Condado, the popular tourist district. Both routes are listed below, and your all-day pass can be used on either route, or both, it's up to you. There are 3 options to choose from - a 24-hour pass, a 48-hour pass, or a 24-hour pass with a guide walking visit to the Mirador STOP #17. The guide will lead to the the lookout point, Mirador, to show you the beauty of the skyline and water. They will give a narration of the history of San Juan. The guided walking visit finishes at stop #20. The walking narration is in both English and Spanish. You choose when and where to go and when to stop to return to your San Juan cruise pier!
