Ruralis interview, Association for Rural Regenerative Development in Portugal
Hello Portugal Lovers!
Did you know that there is an Association for Rural Regenerative Development in the Dão region?
We met Freya van Dien, the president, and she explained a bit about this project and the challenges they face in the beautiful and unexplored Dão Region.
Ruralis is created out of the need to see more examples of good practices and inspiring projects of sustainable and regenerative human activities in the rural world.
Their mission is to support and develop human activities in the rural context that are rooted in an understanding of regenerative processes and a healthy lasting relationship between people and nature.
Their goal is regenerative relationships between human activities and nature in the rural world.
Ruralis is an organization that develops, supports and co-creates projects that are in line with its mission. This includes research and development of projects that support an ecological, economical and socially sustainable/regenerative way of life.

Moinhos do Dão guided tour
Hello Portugal Lovers!
On our road trip we visited this retreat farm in Central Portugal and made a video of our guided tour through this farm.
Moinhos do Dão is an historic mill complex on the banks of Dão river.
Freya and Steve run this small ecotourism business, which focus is on living in harmony with nature. They have a residency program for artists and ecologists, organize activities such as hiking weeks, writing workshops and yoga sessions and Freya started an environmental initiative called CuidaDão to protect and celebrate nature in the Dão valley.
