Begins with a 3 hour motor coach city tour of St. Petersburg with photo stops covering all the main highlights of the city. Starting from the cruise terminal, you will drive along Nevsky Prospect, the busiest street of the city. See the former palaces and houses of noble families. Your professional guide will tell the myths and facts of Saint Petersburg, talk about the history and everyday life too. Next is a ride on the Hydrofoil - this is a fun boat ride "short-cut" on the waterway to bypass the street traffic from from Hermitage pier down to Lower Fountain Park. Take a walking tour of the Royal Gardens. See over 100 fountains that make a walk here peaceful and relaxing. The view from the lower garden to the Grand Palace is one of the most spectacular views in the city. See the famous fountain of St. Sampson. Next is a traditional style Russian lunch that is included with your excursion. You will then travel 20km (12.5 miles) to Tzar's Village and see Catherine Palace built for Catherine the Great, tour the Amber Room and see the doors inlaid with gold! Pure opulence! On your way back to the city you will have a peak at the Metro system (underground subway) with it's marble interior and crystal chandeliers! Then it is on for a stop at St. Isaac Cathedral, known as a masterpiece of 19th century architecture. The last stop of day 1 is the Church of Spilled Blood (Church of the Resurrection) with its 7,000 square meters of mosaic covered walls. Start with a boat ride down the canals where you will view the city from a different perspective! Your first stop will be the Hermitage Museum Art Gallery. You will stop for lunch before heading to your next stop. Explore the Fortress and the Peter and Paul Cathedral located within it's walls. The Cathedral is the resting spot for every Russian Emperor dating back to Peter the Great. Your final stop of the day is Yusupov Palace. The palace is the location of the mysterious murder of Rasputin, the famous Siberian monk. See some of the lavish interior that still holds the secrets of what happened with the fateful event.
