Come and enjoy a unique, and relaxing, way to view St. Petersburg including the fabulous Faberge Museum. Enjoy a fun canal boat ride too. Please note: Do not listen to the cruise lines who will tell you the only way to see St. Petersburg and the area is on their expensive ship sponsored shore excursion or apply for a Russian visa on your own. A blanket visa comes complete with this private excursion at no extra cost or effort for you! Also included will be step-by-step instructions on how to clear immigration outside of your cruise ship and exactly where to meet your official private St. Petersburg sightsee cruise excursion guide. Your guide will be with you every step of the way so there are no worries about the authorities. You will take an air-conditioned vehicle in your way to the wonders of the newly opened Faberge Museum. This privately owned museum is housed in a magnificent palace, which was built in 1790 for one of the Russian noble families. The Palace became the first privately owned museum in Russia in 2014 and houses the largest collection of Faberge items in the world. Housed in the Faberge Museum is not only the world's largest collection of artistry by Carl Faberge but also is a collection of Russian art works numbering in the thousands by a variety of Russian masters. The museum collection contains nine of the 50 famous Imperial Easter Eggs, which are regarded as both incredible works of art, as well as unique historical artifacts. This is an exhibit you will not want to miss and with this private excursion you can enjoy all the sights without the bother of the cruise ship crowds. The first of the famous eggs was made for Tsar Alexander III as a present for his wife, the Empress Maria Fedorovna in 1885 by Carl Faberge who was the Russian court jeweler. You will be given a private visit through the museum by your knowledgeable guide where you will see the amazing eggs inlaid with precious gems, gold and adorned with intricate details. This is a unique opportunity to see 9 of the 43 remaining eggs in existence and something to remember forever. At the end of your Faberge Easter Eggs Museum visit, you will enjoy a canal boat ride down the waterway, accompanied by your private, English-speaking, excursion guide. The route goes under numerous bridges. There are 340 of them in the city; some of them are metallic with opening wings, others are stone with delicate railings, elegantly hanging over canals and rivers of the city, each with its name and history. You will have the opportunity to see the St. Peter and Paul's Fortress, the spectacular Winter Palace as well as many other lovely sights from the waterway in St. Petersburg. After this short ride, return to boat dock and aboard your car for a ride back to your St. Petersburg cruise ship terminal. Your blanket visa only covers you during your St. Petersburg Faberge Museum and Boat Ride Private Excursion. Please note that the transportation used will depend on your group size ranging from a luxury car to a minivan to a deluxe motor coach. The Faberge Museum is closed on Fridays. Guests must book a minimum of 72 hours before their excursion date. At the end of your booking, after you make the payment, you will be redirected to another page to fill out all the necessary passport information about each guest. Your booking cannot be started until we receive the complete information.
