3. Elephants calves are able to stand on their own within 20 minutes of birth and are able to walk within one hour.

5. Elephants are pregnant for 22 months.

Rubavu.
Western province of the country, its capital is Gisenyi, Approx. 3hours from Kigali.

Rubavu is also one hour from the Volcanoes National Park somewhere to relax after Gorilla tracking, and makes a good stopover on the way to or from Nyungwe.
