The "Hidden Valley" in Saudi Arabia...
What is the secret of its name and how is it similar to the "Grand Canyon"?
The valley was called Al-Khafi because it remained unknown to the general public for a long time.. With the opening of roads and social media, its pictures spread and it became a tourist attraction.
The valley contains internal rocky cavities, known as "Qalta", where springs of water and rain are preserved, forming water lakes that make visitors enjoy sitting around them and swimming in them.
And there is a similarity in the rocky cavities with the "Grand Canyon" in America, which makes it a tourist icon worth visiting.
When you go down inside, you can't hear anything from above, even the air doesn't move inside, the place is completely still."
The valley is strange..it comes in a cleft shape within the flat land from all directions, and extends for a great distance, and is often filled in winter with rainwater.
Among the most prominent evidences indicating the settlement of the region is the presence of forts and castles, as well as the spread of farms on the sides of the valley due to the availability of fresh water and fertile land, according to Al-Juaid.
There are also archaeological evidence in the valley, such as stone installations and heritage buildings, which confirm the existence of man in ancient times.
The hidden valley, which is more than 20 kilometers long, passes through a number of cities and villages. It also intersects with other valleys, most notably Wadi Muween, Al-Qari and Al-Dalam.
